I think if Valve cared so much about Linux and "open source", they should 'open source' the Steam client so that all the shady telemetry could be removed.

Except VOIP numbers aren't used, nor are some smaller cheaper carriers. VALVᴱ aren't complete dummies.

So many companies are obsessed with your personal data, not just Valve and not just your number. Its a highly monetizable commodity.

I understand why otherwise "free" services (ex: Facebook, Gmail) that have no other monetization scheme might do it (if you don't pay for a service, you are the payment). I think companies that are getting paid for services rendered (ex: Amazon) and still do this are just greedy.

Let's make a petition to get him back!

Remember when they pranked us by saying they are closing down the shop? If they did that today, somebody would hang them.

Honestly when I first saw GOG I thought it was a piracy download site.
