Cards/marketable items mean just extra money for the devs, why would they pass on that ?

Didn't say that they should. Please reread my post where I quoted tfishell about where they were only doing achievements.

It was a rhetorical question, just wanted to say it makes sense business-wise, as there is a demand for such features, heck, some people only buy games that drop cards.

...and others avoid games with trading cards or at least consider it a big con.

Does this mean I can continue buying Bad Rats on Steam?
