We would like to inform you that, due to our storage and CDN provider's outage, we are encountering technical issues that may cause difficulties in downloading and updating your games both through the GOG GALAXY client and GOG Store. Already downloaded files are in no way affected.

We are trying to mitigate this external problem by switching to our secondary storage while our provider is restoring data. We would also like to highlight that those issues do not affect purchasing games. Currently available discounts on selected titles will not be extended due to the above.

It is our team's top priority to resolve those issues and we aim to resolve them as fast as possible. Apologies for any inconveniences caused.

Archangel591: I wonder how do you imagine you could update your physical copy to a new patch version without an online installer.

Physical, digital, makes no difference. Patches are all online these days, if the source of the patch files is having issues, you can't update all the same.
The fact is, games didn't release in half finished states back when "online patches" weren't an option. Occasionally, they'd release a disc through retailers and magazines with an update, but that virtually always included new content as well as a patch. But once upon a time, the game you bought was the game you got, and ghenerally, QA was much better because they didn't rely on finishing the game after it released. Day 1 patches (Especially massive ones that actually download the size of the game again) were unheard of in the early 2000s. They didn't exist in the 90's. Game developers have gotten complacent and think "oh, we'll just fix it after release." That's a piss poor way to do business, but it quickly became standard for games.

Samulii: I'm pissed because when I buy something, I expect to get that something that I have bought and when I told I bought the key from Kinguin, you started blaming me how bad person I am. Usually when I buy something I google and find out where I can buy it the cheapest, I don't know anything about Kinguin. Why aren't you reporting me if my key is pirated and why has Kinguin been online for many years without any problems if it's illegal?

locomojito1: Dude, stop crying. You're just a cheapskate buying cheap keys that are most probably bought from stolen creditcards. But whatever, when you buy keys from the unofficial channels, the cheaper price is calculated with the risk that comes. If it's worth it for you, so be it, if you didn't know, so be it. Discussion done
Buying cheap keys? I have only bought four game in all of my time on this planet. BG 1,2 and 3 at full price and DOS2 key from Kinguin 100% verified seller. Why are you so mad? Very suspicious....

Magnitus: I'll support Steam with my money when hell freezes over.
Fair enough.

I just wanted to make sure that you knew that when you buy a steam key from a key reseller (e.g. Fanatical, Green Man, Humble), which is where I buy most of my steam games, as it is immensely cheaper, especially when buying bundles, steam gets absolutely no money from this transaction, so if you were to do so, you would not be supporting steam with your money, for what it's worth.

Kinguin and G2A have both had many issues in the past. A quick Google search into that would have pulled that up. The keys will redeem. And you may keep it. Or it may get found that it is stolen later and be revoked. These things happen. It's part of the gamble you take on those type sites. Instead of being a cheapskate that costs developers money by having to refund stolen keys (not to you, you'll probably never see your money back), buy from authorized sellers. Everyone wins then. You're not risking your money, the developers make their cut, and you know you'll have your game.

EDIT: In that quick Google search, the first 5 results of "Is Kinguin Safe" are
1. Yes
2. No
3. Kind of
4. No
5. Yes

Does that sound like a trustworthy site for you?

Lamiszcze: In all honesty, that is the first time that GoG had such a major issue.
It's dissapointing, but I still prefer them over Epic, Steam or any other service.
It's enough that I have to pay subscription fee to listen to my music at anytime.

On the other hand - ''Installing 92%'' has a potential to become a meme.
It was 76% for me for a couple of hours. Then 91% for a couple of hours. Then 92% for a couple of hours and I gave up so I decided to whine on this forum so I don't feel so alone lol
....so far off the rails it may as well be closed now.

Gog, start a new Inform thread and lock both please.

AWG43: Hi! I have a few questions regarding SteamCmd. Can I ask you about SteamCmd via chat?
Yes, of course, gladly.

The same applies to anyone else interested.

okay good for you, now stop crying.
Never mind, can't post the image.

Basically front page for me is 80% NSFW and 20% "everything is broken atm" notification.

Great look for a front page. And it will be that way until Monday.

The bookkeeping and accounting term that might be applicable to GOG is "sunk costs." QED.

Clownski_: We would like to give you an update that, while we are still continuing in our efforts to fully stabilize the situation, we've mitigated the majority of technical issues caused by our storage and CDN provider's outage. Should you encounter any further problems with downloading or updating your games, be sure to let our Customer Support know.
I think your post may have been a bit premature.

I have just tested a small portion of my library (only games beginning with a number or with the letter A) and got the following download errors (I am not reporting the numerous md5 errors, just the plain 404 errors, to keep the list short):

Lord_Kane: I guess its time to realize an important thing

The writing is on the wall.
GOG will be dead by the end of 2023 if we are lucky
tick tock everyone.

Tick. Tock.
Hey "Tick Tock", go and wish those shit for Steam/Epic. They deserved this for it's DRM and treat customers like slaves and potential thieves.
