I think, that´s some kind of glossy paper. Not sure, if there is a specific name for it.
And as for printing art on CD itself, do you ned some special printer for it I guess?

If you want to print directly on the CD itself, you need a special printer. Alternatively you can print on self adhesive labels with a normal printer.

EDIT: There was also some experimental Lightscribe technology, that allowed you to burn simple images on special DVDs. Don´t know what happened to that. It wasn´t used much, I guess.
Here some info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LightScribe

I want to make worms 2, armaggeddon and world party cass and labels.
I hope I won't mess up anything with materials and printing.

This info is somewhat outdated but may offer some info concerning the printing of covers.

This makes no sense, you obviously want physical copies yet you are giving money to GOG. Giving money to GOG is a vote against games getting official physical releases.
These are not physical releases. If you consider burned back ups to be physical releases then that means printing off a picture of a painting is the same as the painting.
Instead of settling by making these, you could always demand official physical releases and don't give the developer any money if they don't give their game an official physical release.

DontPay4Digital: This makes no sense
We are just a small cult with a fetish for making/collecting game covers here in this thread. You really should open a thread on the General Discussion forum where you will find more than a few community members who would really enjoy discussing your views on physical copies and GOG's role in the demise thereof. Few will see your post here IMHO.

Please, start a thread on this topic in the General Discussion forum as you won't be disappointed I'm sure. =)

Physical retail copies are tied to a Steam activation 90% of the time, so why would I want to buy physical releases?
XOVYANT has just released some fantastic templates on his DeviantArt page for those wanting inspiration, or to shake things up. Throw him a thanks if you are a DevArt member...
