As per Kyros' will.

A new Edict of Renaming has just been issued by Kyros the Overlord and it decrees that two of Tyranny's versions be renamed thusly:

- Commander Edition is now called Standard Edition.
- Overlord Edition is now Deluxe Edition (same for the respective upgrade).

Additionally, a new Gold Edition is now available, which includes every piece of Tyranny content that's been released, including the two expansion packs.

All versions just received a FREE update which adds two portraits and some cool pieces of gear.

To celebrate Kyro's wisdom, these Tyranny versions got their base prices readjusted and are 50% off until November 12th, 11pm UTC.

NOTE: The free content update will hit the Mac and Linux versions soon.

Guys, just to clarify: there is no separate DLC for the free items, they are already added as an update.

The Mac and Linux versions haven't received them yet, but they will in the immediate future.
In case anyone is interested in the game itself, I've got to say it's really good. I'm one of those who always picks the goody-two-shoes choices in RPGs, and I still had a blast. There's so much reactivity to your choices that as soon as I finished my first playthrough I started another.

The setting is imaginative, the characters are colorful, and the magic system is really neat. Dang, now I'm tempted to start it up again.

chandra: To clarify - there is no Gold Edition Upgrade, true, but that is as intended by Paradox. Notice that it's the same on Steam or anywhere else.

Still, that does not mean it's not possible to have the Gold Edition content :)

If you have the Standard Edition, purchasing the Deluxe Edition Upgrade, Tales from the Tiers and Bastard's Wound will grant you the same content as purchasing the Gold Edition would.
If you already have the Deluxe Edition, you just need the two remaining Tyranny Expansions.

I hope this clears things up!

RadonGOG: Thanks for clearing it up. Generally speaking, will the "not everything I own is maked as owned due to different packages"-issue ever be fixed? It´s annoying...
(in this case: Despite owing the deluxe & DLCs, the standard edition, the gold edition and the deluxe upgrade or not marked as "in library")
Probably not after all this time. It's really frustrating during sales.

Enebias: I hate to be that guy, but... is there even a reason to buy games published by Paradox before editions like these appear?
I mean, everybody knows about the tons of DLC and the overly expensive costs of upgrading your edition, so in the end you will end up paying more to obtain every piece discounted than to buy the final version at full price.
Personally, I find this very disrespectful towards customers, especially considering the whole thing with Pillars of Eternity 1 and expansion.
Still, my open dislike for Paradox is known by now.
I don't disagree with your opinion, but it doesn't apply to every Paradox game.

Regarding Crusader Kings for example, I just stopped caring about DLC since the release of Reaper's Due as for me they don't add anything noteworthy to the base game

There is a new DLC being released in a few days, "Holy Fury", which has been in development for a year. It seems it will add every single wish the fandom has been asking for.

Kristian: How do I know if I need to get this?

For ne the following are lusted as owned: "Tyranny - Official Soundtrack Deluxe Edition", "Tyranny - Standard Edition", "Tyranny - Portrait Pack", "Tyranny - Tales from the Tiers" and "Tyranny - Bastard's Wound".

Anime-BlackWolf: You are missing the PDF books and digital stuff that was included in the Overlord Edition.

Those can be obtained by buying the Deluxe Edition Upgrade I THINK...

Myself has the Overlord Edition, both Expansions and the Portrait Pack. I don't think I am missing stuff to the "new" Gold Edition...
This is what is listed under extras for me:

"EXTRAS
Deluxe Edition Bonus goodies
Wallpapers (10) 112 MB
Map 21 MB
Storybook 6 MB
Guide 45 MB
Ringtones (3) 5 MB
Soundtrack (FLAC) 718 MB
Soundtrack (MP3) 60 MB
Soundtrack (WAV) 737 MB
Artbook 53 MB
Official Soundtrack Deluxe Edition goodies
Soundtrack (MP3) 215 MB
Soundtrack (FLAC) 512 MB
Standard Edition Bonus goodie
Ringtones (3) 5 MB"

Anything missing here?

mqstout: How about fixing all the pages so they link to the DLC you don't have too? And fixing to mark that I own "standard" while I own Deluxe so I don't have to check constantly "do I own a higher or lower edition of this?" And I own all the components of Gold, how about marking that as owned?
GOG has never done this right. It's one thing I doubt they will EVER get right.
EDIT: Furthermore, getting GOG to even acknowledge this as a problem is impossible. Support tickets and forum blues alike just brush it aside as "Not a big deal".

I have received "Anniversary Gift Pack" newsletter from Paradox Interactive - GOG registered game.

All items will be available for PC very soon, be it on the Paradox Launcher or Steam,
and are on their way to Mac and Linux in a near future!
Paradox Interactive does not mention the GOG platform at all.
As a loyal GOG user and customer, I am feeling bad that the developers and publishers tend to ignore GOG game owners and the GOG platform as a whole.
They should acknowledge GOG users existence in their official communication, respect us and treat their customers equally, regardless of the platform.

maladr0Id: Guys, just to clarify: there is no separate DLC for the free items, they are already added as an update.
Are you certain about this?

Because I have a Windows stand-alone installer right here that does NOT contain the freeLCs. Something I have already written about in this very thread.

Not to tell you how to do your job... actually, screw that. I'm tired of this whole "what non-Galaxy users?"

It's outright disrespectful not to acknowledge a major reported issue. Even something as simple as "I cannot comment on the technical side of things, but will kick it up with the deployment team" would at least have been SOME kind of reaction, instead of complete silence on it in your reply.

Yes, I do feel strongly about this. It's far from the first time that GOG treats its own core customer base as pariahs. Not all of us are interested in "embracing" your client, for whatever reason, and you promised us that it won't be a requirement. So strongly that I went ahead to set up a disposable session and let Google data-mine that, since apparently it's utterly unthinkable for GOG to function without third-party scripts (again, even bloody Nexus manages to self-host captcha challenges).

Having a "blue" reply to this thread without any kind of acknowledgement of the time I put in verifying that there is an issue with stand-alone GOG installers for Windows missing the DLC content is really fucking telling.

I've spent years promoting GOG to everybody I knew. I sent GOG purchases as gifts to help you increase your exposure. Now, just because I have personal objections to some parts of implementation of your client, I am to resign myself to being treated like an unwanted legacy?

To hell with that.

Yes of course. And also if we already have Standard or even Deluxe edition we can just purchase the Gold version. *irony* The only problem is that these options (including mine) are slightly more expensive.
Joking aside! The real problem is that even with the Deluxe version, buying two remaining Tyranny Expansions costs more than 2 times more than the price difference between the Deluxe and the Gold editions. And, moreover, according to the result, the Gold version will still be shown as not owned.

This is disgusting towards the owners of existing versions and, in turn, from our part, to support such business practices of the publisher is a very bad idea. Therefore, I personally do not intend to overpay 2 times or re-buy the Gold edition. With such an attitude - I will think about buying the missing content no sooner than I see a 90% discount. And maybe in general I give up the idea of buying. There is always an alternative option.
Specifically to GOG, since this is a decision of the publisher, I have no complaints. But GOG could kick the publisher for such things.

Clear like mud.

Where, precisely, would these Gold edition goodies be located?

Because they're not in my account, and I had the previous top tier edition and all DLCs previous to this re-naming.

They're not in the DLC section, not in the bonus section, and as Lukaszmik confirmed, they're not in the base installer.

So, would you care to be more specific?

WHERE ARE THEY?

If you have previous top-tier edition, you already own all the goodies, so you just need to buy the add-ons:

https://www.gog.com/game/tyranny_tales_from_the_tiers
https://www.gog.com/game/tyranny_bastards_wound

Congratulation, you now own the Gold Edition!

EDIT - I just saw you already have these DLCs? So congratulation, you owned the Gold Edition before it has been officially released!

I just installed the game using the new standalone installer (1.2.1.0160) and also found that the Portrait Pack DLC is missing despite the changelog for the game claiming it has been included. Not sure how to check for the presence of the Sword and Armor DLC.

Submitted a support ticket.

C'mon GOG - what's going on here and please don't tell me that I need to log into a Paradox account for the DLC to appear!!!!
I originally purchased the old Overlord Edition (now Deluxe) in pre-order, in my library the content shows right. but if I check the store pages, only Tyranny - Official Soundtrack Deluxe Editionis marked as owned and not the full Deluxe Edition...
This DLC labyrinth was planned rather poorly and greedily. Not blaming GOG or anything, just rolling my eyes a little. Game seemed decent, but I didn't get far.
