As per Kyros' will.

A new Edict of Renaming has just been issued by Kyros the Overlord and it decrees that two of Tyranny's versions be renamed thusly:

- Commander Edition is now called Standard Edition.
- Overlord Edition is now Deluxe Edition (same for the respective upgrade).

Additionally, a new Gold Edition is now available, which includes every piece of Tyranny content that's been released, including the two expansion packs.

All versions just received a FREE update which adds two portraits and some cool pieces of gear.

To celebrate Kyro's wisdom, these Tyranny versions got their base prices readjusted and are 50% off until November 12th, 11pm UTC.

NOTE: The free content update will hit the Mac and Linux versions soon.
It's nice to see a complete edition now, and at a better price. This is still higher than I usually like to spend, but I might to show appreciation for the complete version and Linux support.
How do I know if I need to get this?

For ne the following are lusted as owned: "Tyranny - Official Soundtrack Deluxe Edition", "Tyranny - Standard Edition", "Tyranny - Portrait Pack", "Tyranny - Tales from the Tiers" and "Tyranny - Bastard's Wound".
The store pages need an awful lot of work to actually reflect these name changes.

There's a table comparing the editions that still uses the old names. The drop down to select editions seems to have a blend of both old and new names.

You are missing the PDF books and digital stuff that was included in the Overlord Edition.

Those can be obtained by buying the Deluxe Edition Upgrade I THINK...

Myself has the Overlord Edition, both Expansions and the Portrait Pack. I don't think I am missing stuff to the "new" Gold Edition...
This is a step in the right direction - god knows why they went with those unhelpful names in the first place - but like others have said, the effort is incomplete. I wonder if GOG or the devs are to blame for that, though?
I live for the day Crusader Kings II gets a Gold Edition suffix and gets released on GOG.
Even there is no option to upgrade from Deluxe to Gold.
Angry! Angry!!! ANGRY1!!

Well, there is also some 2 Year Anniversary Gift Pack in Gold edition of Tyranny, but I don't see i in my list of DLCs.
Well, I guess just waiting a few days (and hoping for the version stuff settling down) seems like a good plan...
So, the Gold Edition is the complete complete edition?

Zoidberg: This obfuscation is ridiculous...
What's more ridiculous is the realization that they're probably doing this not to pull the capcom maneuver:

Monster Hunter Portable 2 G
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ultra
...
Super Mega Street Fighter Alpha 7: Ultra X Turbo Hyper Fighting Arcade Edition Console Version Grand Master Challenge

firstpastthepost: Every time I see the name of this game I can't help but read it as Tranny. I don't know what that says about me, but it can't be good.
That DLC's coming: The Tranny Tyrant campaign

EDIT: I get that this game was meant to parody, but i get the distinct impression that they've learned from it a bit too much: EVERONYE MUST ADOPT OUR NEW STANDARDS RIGHT MEOW!!

So Overlord's still missing content? Do I have to buy Gold now? I'm so confused right now.
I bought the Overlord Edition back in 2016 (at full price) and my extras downloads still show as "Overlord Edition Bonus goodies" and I do NOT have the Portrait Pack and Sword and Armor DLC. C'mon, GOG/Paradox this can't be right. Are you seriously deprecating my purchase and not providing the now bundled (free) DLCs to prior purchasers?

Also, and as others have said, no upgrade option to the Gold Edition. WTF !!!

Not impressed - unless this just happens to be a mistake.....

A welcome update to a great game, but I am rather confused.

I went to my collection to download the updated installer, and there "bonus" Portrait Pack and a Sword and Armor DLCs are nowhere to be found.

The game itself was not showing as "updated," either.

So... are these stealth-integrated in the main installer without it getting an updated version, is the update notification borked up once more, or are the users of stand-alone installers getting shafted yet again?

Seems to be the first case (the game installer being downloaded is a different version number, despite the lack of update notification), but won't know for certain until the thing downloads and I'm able to check for potential presence of the extra portraits. Hopefully the "free horse-armor" DLCs are there.

Either way, one of those annoying GOG "quirks" that really should've been fixed by now.

Please post your results here when you find out - thanks!
