paladin181: One can hope cause the world merge and other mods have become down right necessary now. :D Play as a woman, play as a monster if you want, play however you like, and multi-player maps are no longer exclusively multiplayer. I need to dig out my old Two Worlds forum login and see what's up over there.

I don't know what to think about that news. I enjoyed the Two Worlds serie, but after the Raven's Cry fiasco, I hoped they won't spoil the licence.
I guess we will have to pay for the 2 DLCs... and a new engine update for a game which needed a lot of patches to be playable afraid me !

I have always thought of Reality Pump as one of those developers with interesting ideas, but tends to have weak implementation into games - so their games sound great, but do not play great.

If they can improve their game by taking another look at it then that is a good thing, but I will wait and see how the changes are received before I get excited.

well depending on what shape the DLC takes I'd say either nice job or screw your cynical cash grab attempt to promote your sequel.

To summarize, a buggy and poorly optimized release, then an expensive enhanced version (Curse of the Raven's Cry) and finally, the devs cheated by adding fake positive reviews and notation on Steam. It was removed from Steam but it is back now.

Oh, I didn't know there was an EE.
I stopped playing it after the buggy and poorly optimized release (that buggy hair of the main charakter caused nightmares for me....).

gooberking: I was one of the oddballs that really got a lot of use out of the first game. I probably put in something like 100 hours into it with at least 2 full play throughs and two or three half play throughs.
I kinda liked it as well, not a big fan of the action combat type of RPGs, but at least this one had a really open world (as in not scaled) so when you improved your char it mattered.

Grargar: What the hell is going on with Reality Pump/Topware? First, Raven's Cry is released in a buggy state which results in the bankruptcy of Reality Pump... or so we're led to believe and Reality Pump is actively working on rereleasing it. Then, once it's rereleased, it's apparently still buggy and after a while, the game is removed from Steam on suspicions of Topware tampering with the game's reviews and soon after, there are reports that Topware has filed for bankruptcy. And now you are telling me that despite having filed for bankruptcy, they are just developing games like nothing happened?

Pre-post edit: Oh wait, Raven's Cry is back on Steam. O_o
Oh wow, that game is back for round 3? I still have it on my wishlist as I still have morbid curiosity about it, but I'm holding out for it being included in a $3 bundle on Bundlestars along with 57 other games some day insofar as actually buying it. :)

Grargar: I can. Postal 2 received new updates and an expansion pack more than 10 years after its original release.
Not to mention all of the Valve games still being updated to this day also, and even Blizzard has released a new patch for Diablo II and Warcraft 3 in the last couple of weeks. Rarities to say the least, but cool. :)

I'm very interested in the answer to this. My hope is that all owners receive the engine improvements, with the option to buy DLC for more story content. My gut tells me that we'll need to buy the game again; similar to Metro 2033/Metro 2033 Redux.

Not necessarily, but.. time will tell ; )
According to Raidor's story, update and Linux version will come to GoG, and with their new DLM policy, existing owners will be able to activate the game wherever they want it seems.

I honestly hope I don't have to buy the game one more time to be able to play on Linux..
