Hi,

As some of you might remember, I've been a part of a small team that have been making a game of our own. Finally, Traum is done and released. Traum is a short, narrative driven game with horror elements and it touches real-life subjects.

If you want to try our game, it can be found here

+1 but I have to admit that having a screen cap with a swear word in there twice might upset some folks.

Some folks have sensitive eyes. ;)

is it your own engine or something off the shelf?

I think they're using the RPG Maker engine. Don't fret, though, there's no RPG stuff in it, nor is there combat. I didn't touch the technical aspect at all, I only wrote the script :D

I'll let the guys know that they might want to remove that screeen, then.
And the screen's been removed :D
Demo is very nice, from what I played. I am impressed with the writing quality as well as the attention to detail.

My only suggestion is when making selections such as in the menu, or at the beginning when selecting what to do at the desk, maybe make it so that when you click through, it performs the action immediately. Right now, it takes two clicks.

It's minor and doesn't really bother me personally, but I know someone's going to have issues with it.

:D I can't wait for the finished game. It looks like it's going to be really good, m8.
So far the reception has been quite good, which is a big relief! Even the story has been getting some praise :D

I know many of you might be ticked off because of the engine (RPG Maker), I understand that. It has a certain stigma. But I'd really hope you'd give it a change regardless, as the game itself isn't the typical RPG Maker game. There's no combat but helluva lot of atmosphere. And text.

Here's a couple of let's plays to check out, if you're interested.

Just downloaded and started the demo. Two questions:
1) Any reasons this game has a German title? (O.K. - that's just curiosity)
2) Is there really no way to play this in fullscreen? (That would be extremely important for me)

As I just started I cannot say much else now but I will later . :)

Edit: O.K. - I just finished the demo. I can just say what already has been said. Great writing, great atmosphere, great and surprising FX and a story with a good pace which makes you care for the characters pretty fast. Fittin soundtrack as well. I would be interested to see how this story continues.

I also spotted two tiny bugs. First one see attachement - it's near the end of the demo. The second one was when I entered the bedroom after I looked in the mirror the game still told me that there's a mirror in the bathroom even though I already was there. Last but not least: if the character is talking about a bathroom it may be should be labeled as such instead of wc. But that's all no more complaints - great work!

1. The name is there for a reason :D And it sounds cool, too.
2. I *think* you can toggle full screen with f4. Yeah, not a fan of the engine myself.

And thanks for the kind words, good to know you liked it! About the bugs, they're being fixed when the game releases :D Thanks for pointing them out, btw!

Of course the title has a meaning - I was just wondering why you chose a German word. Btw it does not sound cool if you are German like me - it sounds pretty normal :D

I don't mind the engine at all except there was no fullscreen option. Maybe it can be shown somewhere that you just have to press F4 (something I didn't try of course - stupid me).

Edit: Yes, F4 worked.

Edit2: Just tell us when we should make a wishlist entry for the community wishlist. I really want to know how this continues.
