Geralt_of_Rivia: I see, that does look strange indeed. I haven't seen a bug like this before.
Was probably just one of the usual GOG mistakes when updating the game (because for whatever reason they don't seem to test those things). After I noticed it (the day the update was released) I also created a support ticket (#467304) immediately so it should be fixed real soon.

Patch 0.8.2 (02 September 2019)

Hello marines, time for a content update! 0.8.2 is deployed and you can download it now (you might need to fully restart your client to trigger the update).

Please note there's no save compatibility - your previous run will be silently deleted. Your progress and statistics should stay unaffected.

Most notable change is the addition of the second Io branch - CRI Laboratories! It comes with its own special level - CRI Armory. We'll leave you to discover its secrets for yourself, although prepare as you would for Blacksite Vaults :P.

Second biggest change is Medical and Technical stations. They are carefully placed in terms of randomness (the bulk that you'll find is guaranteed), and allow for some control over your run. With Medical terminals you can either use them as stationary healing, extract a medkit out of them - a combination of both or even more :). Technical stations will allow you to better control your mod supply, or/and repair your armor.

Third topic of 0.8.2 is acid. You'll meet it both as a new barrel type, as well as in the furious hands of the archreavers. Due to the fact that this makes Anomaly even more deadly, we addressed the Friendly Neighbourhood Reaver issue, and guaranteed that those cozy creatures don't spawn right in your face.

Speaking of special levels, we've revisited some and improved the rewards for most of Callisto and Europa special levels. Among them you may find the newly added ADV rocket launchers and chainguns to even your chances out!

There are several smaller changes and bugfixes, most notably killing the fiend burn crash bug (hopefully for good!) and making Io and Boss Reavers not count to the 100% clear count (which should make some of you really happy).

Update (03 September 2019)

Comrades! The time has come to dust off your spacesuits, put on your space diapers, and wrap yourself in electrical tape because Breathedge continues!

Everyone was expecting us to shift the release date again and made beautiful posters with obscene slogans. Well, that was in vain. Today, in spite of global warming, two new chapters of the epic saga about the simple Man will be released (or they have been released already if you are reading this piece of news a bit later than it was planned).

Before briefly describing what the new chapters are about, we cannot help but share a unique commercial from the Breathedge Global Funeral Agency, which you can easily see on TV if your calendar shows the year 2073. Let’s go!

Here we are! The future is beautiful, or do you still have any doubts about it? We don’t have any either. We’ve got a small trailer left, timed to the release of the new chapters, and designed to show that we can fill in the background with the red color and make large captions right on top of the video.

Breathedge will have two new chapters telling the further story of the Man, his immortal chicken, Babe, coffin robots, and the wrecked liner “Unnamed”. This is not the end of the story, however, the denouement is near. Probably.

The game’s world will expand because the story can be continued only in new places. In general, this is what will appear in the game: several cubic kilometers of garbage, 40,000 new words, about 120 interesting and extremely useless points with collectibles, 6 cutscenes (with poor animation, we remember we promised that), and 530 new voiced lines of the cheerful spacesuit. Or maybe not 530, but something around that number.

There will be even more items for littering your pockets with: about 15 new resources; about 15 new tools, from a blaster to a brand new enhanced handy scrapper and a grenade; a dozen new types of equipment, which will include various types of spacesuits each having their own special features (if you don’t mind dragging them around with you).

Finally, the Man gets to own a car and a “Rocket” vacuum cleaner. It’s prohibited to drive them without a license, but you’ll do anything to survive, won’t you?

We’d also like to mention some robots that will bring life to this uncosy and dark space. Well, it’s not quite accurate to call it “life” when it comes to robots, but at least they can move sometimes and even shoot you in the back.

The construction of space stations will become a large and difficult thing for learning. You can construct them anywhere, and as many as you want. Or not construct them at all. Although surviving in space will be much harder without a station. You can use a station to rest and fill in the oxygen, or you can use it as a luxurious home for a real bachelor, with a bed, a TV, a food processor for crafting stuff, dead comrades, a shiny toilet, dozens of different items, equipment, and decor. There are about 50 different blocks and decor elements, that is if you find their blueprints.

There will be more languages. All three chapters will be not only in Russian and English but also in German, French, and Chinese languages (although the audio will still be available only in Russian and English, at least for now).

And certainly, there will be more other small pleasant things, such as different game modes, even for those who don’t like wasting their oxygen, dozens of achievements, a minigame, more settings, freezing autosaves, and even an easy way out by using Alt+F4.

That’s it!

Or not? It’s more like a “not”, as it’s not the game release. The story of the Man isn’t over yet, but we are planning to finish it by two more chapters, as cool and boring as they can be. We won’t tell you about our future plans, but we will certainly let you know when we have any.

And another important thing: due to the fact that the current update is way bigger than when it was initially, it affected all the possible parts of the projects, including the ones in the first chapter. If you used to see beautiful space earlier, but after the update you see a beautiful prince trying to kiss you instead — don’t hesitate and tell us about it in Discord, or send us your messenger chicken.

Beyond Patch 2.09.4 Hotfix (04 September 2019)

Hello everyone,

Thank you again to everyone playing Beyond, especially those taking the time to report any issues they encounter via Zendesk.

We have become aware of a number of mod incompatibilities causing a crash on startup with release 2.09.4. As a result, we have pushed a hotfix that will disable mods by default.

Mods are not officially supported and we cannot guarantee they will not cause instability or damage saves. However, if your mods have been updated and are compatible with the new release, they can be re-enabled by following the steps listed here.

We will continue to release patches as issues are identified and resolved. If you experience any issues, let us know by submitting a bug report.

We have two pieces of exciting news to talk about today.

First, today marks the release of a new Gift Bag: Song of Nature. There are thousands of mods out there but some have proven to be quite popular within our team and we decided to turn them into game features. Full credit for this goes to each and every mod-maker we reached out to for this to come to light. We've tried to do their ideas justice by fully integrating them into the game and developing them further. There is now a special entry in the in-game menu from which you can access all these features and the list will be extended with future Gift Bags, with original content to come.

Secondly, we have some massive news for you. If you happen to own a Nintendo Switch, then you’ll be able to take all your hundreds of hours of gameplay on the go from today. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has just been released on the Nintendo E-Shop, and it comes not only with all of the Gift Bags you’ve enjoyed on Steam, but also cross-save progression between the Switch and Steam.

It works pretty simply: once you buy DOS2 from the E-Shop and load up the game, you’ll be asked if you want to link to Steam. If you choose to, it’ll automatically grab your saves from the elusive and impenetrable Steam cloud (you’ll see how we managed this next week), and your save will be playable on the Switch. It works vice-versa, too. Finished with a game? It’ll upload the save back into the cloud. You’ll need to be connected to the internet as well as Nintendo’s online service, but you’ll need that anyway if you’re venturing into four player coop on the Switch (which is totally possible!)

We’re extremely proud to be able to bring this to the players in cooperation with Nintendo and Valve who helped us plug everything together.

Crafter's Kit Plenty of new recipes and unique items to craft!

Endless Runner Find a new icon in your Hotbar which you can use to toggle sprint on and off. Sprint increases your movement speed of your party and the movement speed of your followers.

Animal Empathy Allows all player characters to talk to animals without having to spend a talent point. Also Changes Pet Pal talent to grant maximum positive attitude in all conversations with animals.

Fort Joy Magic Mirror Manifests a Magic Mirror in the Arena of Fort Joy, along with a new Character Creation level. This allows you to respec before moving on to the next act of the game.

8 Action Points Increases the base maximum Action Points of hero characters to 8.

Herb Gardens Plant your own herb garden! Take any herb and combine it with a bucket to create a seedling. Then just place your seedling in the ground and watch it grow. We will have additional Gift Bags of free and cool content for you in the coming months, too!
