mrkgnao: Anyhow, since you seem to think that reminding them is part of your job, here is a VERY PARTIAL list of some "forgotten gems", where the offline and galaxy version numbers
appear to be different (I have ignored tens of games where the difference between the version numbers listed is "small" (e.g. 1.2 vs. 1.2a), tens of games where the version numbers use a different system on galaxy and offline (e.g. gog-13 vs. 1.2.1), tens of games where the version numbers are simply missing on either galaxy or offline, etc. etc.):
As announced I forwarded the list to support and absolutely unexpected I got a pretty detailed reply from the great
Cypers (the same guy who checked the first "batch") already. Here's thhe reply:
"Hello,
Please bear with me as this might be a bit complicated.
Realms of the Haunting and Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, there is no difference in content between installer version and Galaxy. The name is just different but otherwise, this is the same build.
Caribbean!, Shelter 2, Trine Enchanted Edition, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have the older build and patch. These will be fixed the next time they get a patch. Unfortunately, I do not know when exactly.
Factorio is a beta branch. Offline installers for betas can be downloaded from the official website:
https://www.factorio.com/ after registering the game.
System Shock 2 is also a beta branch. We usually make offline installers only for stable versions(unless it has VR in it, please see below).
Fallen Enchantress, Kingdoms and Castles, Scanner Sombre, we forwarded this to our colleague and proper builds should be released soon.
Tooth and Tail is already updated to newest version.
Scanner Sombre seems to have everything(VR Compatibility Update [BETA BUILD]).
Downfall, Herald: An Interactive Period Drama, Last Leviathan, SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL, Seven: The Days Long Gone [Demo], SimplePlanes, Transistor, these seem to be updated only on Galaxy. We reported these games to the appropriate team at our company. Our Product team will need to create installers for these games, test them and then release them."
It would have taken me much longer to test even the few I own ... but as you said, technically that's not my job anyhow - but I don't mind doing the job of forwarding such information to GOG support since my personal experience with the support is nearly almost postivive (with the exception of some technical game issues which GOG either is not allowed to fix themselves or are forwarded to the product team).
Edit: And I could have sworn that my latest offline installation of Witcher 3 showed 1.32... guess I was wromg after all. Sorry for the misinformation.
