Seeing this pop up more and more is starting to make me consider amending my rules about what renders a game ineligible for purchase due to "DRM-like behaviour".

I really don't have the patience to reverse-engineer Galaxy's ABI and then write a shim library which replaces Galaxy with a simple LAN play matchmaking UI or IP-entry dialog like the good old games had.

I'm lucky in that respect. I don't play multiplayer or co-op, nor do I care about achievements or leaderboards.

I'm generally the same, but the existence of "Internet-only multiplayer" is one of my pet peeves since it's another detail for me to keep track of in my pricing calculus and in my collection when ensuring that I never partake in a gaming experience that can be remotely revoked by bankruptcy, loss of interest, or malicious intent.

(ie. It pisses me off because it's more work for me when it comes to ensuring I never fall below a 1990s level of ownership liberty.)

That's a 'rollback' update. Previous one contained TFix content by mistake.

I don't know what that means, I'll just assume TFix is a mod. :P

So has there been a change to the Thief installer then? I'm confused, because I get a notification to say it has changed, but a change log dated 4th April, and now you mention it has been rolled back. So is the installer I downloaded from the last update (some weeks ago) bad and in need of rolling back?
