I think it was removed from SOON category (to nothingness) just because it's going to be released on Steam soon, this March or April (sooner than June 2020 despite the Epic exclusivity agreement due to some circumstances, not the first game breaking this rule actually). And Publisher decided to milk money from Steam first and check GOG later.

Also note that on Steam the Publisher name is: Bigben Interactive while on GOG it was Nacon, a subsidiary of Bigben (see attached). So maybe it's just a rearrangement of a store page.

I hope it comes out I am really looking forward to it!

Anothername: While I do share the dislike on Epic colossal behavior failure and devs who lack the integrity to stay on course with their chosen platforms (meaning also to flip off Epic if they send in their exclusive demands) I'd think it send a stronger message to buy it on Gog when/if it arrives if you want to play it instead of copyright infringing it.

nightcraw1er.488: It doesn’t though does it. It just shows them they can get away with that practice, get the sales on one main platform, then get secondary sales on other platforms. It doesn’t actually show them anything.
On the other hand, if no one brought it on epic and everyone downloaded it, then that would be a clear message. It’s not going to happen of course, and that is where all these things fall apart. There will always be a majority who don’t care and buy it there, and a fair few who would always illegally get it regardless. So it will carry on without end.
Thats not whats happening though. The ppl not caring about platforms will buy it there regardless. So you will have ppl not caring and buying there and ppl not buying anywhere else which shows them only Epic sales or you have the stamina to wait it out which also shows them sales elsewhere. They already know that they can get away with it since Epic gives these devs money for estimated sales; so even if they do not sale one game they still have their money.

If one of the games from these spineless companies is any good I'd like the chance to buy it on Gog and see the benefit of having had the Epic users as beta testers. Also; a lot of these games, even the indi ones, are made by more ppl that that one moron who decides to pull out in the last moment. They deserve the chance to some praise too.

karnak1: I never stated that I'm gonna pirate the game. I wrote that I could easily do it if I wanted to. I know where to get it from, 100% free of virus or malware.
But I prefer to buy and play games which I legally purchased on GOG.

Still, the sad fact is that pubs don't really care wether you pirate the game or not. Their main intention is to boycott projects like GOG store or other DRM-free places in order to enforce stricter DRM upon the dumb customers who keep supporting such practices.

Fact is: time passes and people still refuse to "vote with their wallets". Just like in real world politics, when citizens allow crooks to become politicians and enforce their policies everyone loses in the end.
My mistake, sorry. Some ppl lack any self restrain and hit the download button regardless where. You both are right though; in a perfect world ppl would all vote with their wallets. At least those that are against those platforms.

Fender_178: Yeah this has happened to other games as well such as Mechwarrior 5, Shenmue 3 where the devs and publishers sold out to Epic. Borderlands 3 is finally out on Steam though which is good news.

Since you had so many ...lovely things to say about china in that other thread: https://www.polygon.com/2013/3/21/4131702/tencents-epic-games-stock-acquisition

:P
Bummer was looking forward to a revamped Dark Corners of the Earth with a Sherlock Holmes layer wrapped in :(

... but thanks for pointing this out Cadaver! Fingers crossed that this is the case (not the Steam first, GoG later - hopefully it's releasing sooner than the June exclusivity period and is just getting a revamped page with the correct publishers information).

Squirline: Not good 40% is too much. I go uninstall epic now. Is there any store not tainted by ccp?

BranjoHello: I see that the store page for The Sinking City has disappeared.
The Galaxy API entry for the game has also been deleted. It looks like we won't be seeing it any time soon, if ever.

karnak1: It seems they won't see my money then. Good for them.
Could just as easily download the game from a pirate site, but I have better things to do. Like playing games which I bought from publishers who support GOG.
If that's how people feel then they should do this with Ubisoft,EA and Steam too.

It's strange how people don't want to sign up to other services but they are happy when it's something like Ubisoft which requires their login with games from Steam or Epic.

True ,but those sites don't advertise themselves as drm-free and working offline.
Uplay is bad , just some games are only available there :(
As pointed out earlier the exclusivity-deal is still good for another 3 months, so it may pop up again closer to the deadline.

Please, no need to apologize. I understand what you mean.

And I've gotta add that it's sad as hell that GOG is so undervalued by publishers. It was thanks to GOG that I stopped pirating games (when almost every new game was launching with steamworks attached) and returned to giving money to publishers. And I suspect I wasn't the only one.
And I find it criminal how the gaming press (90% of which love to lick Valve's ass) never acknowledged the importance of GOG in the retro-revival which started almost a decade ago.
When GOG started its business I remember very well reading on gaming sites how folks were shocked that a store was asking for money for games which were 20 years old.

Now, some years later, even steam is selling old games and capitalizing on GOG's business model. Many indie studios which focus on making retro-styled games based on Pixel Art and old-school mechanics can probably thank GOG for strengthening a market for "old-looking" games.

And still - after so many years - I still hear the same : "why is GOG selling incomplete games!" "steam's version has extra DLC" "I'm gonna have to buy on steam now", "why can't GOG force publishers to sell this and that",etc etc etc etc... and still they keep buying on steam, or origin, or uplay, whatever.

Maybe one day GOG will finally close its doors. And there will be consequences. And then people will miss GOG and a place where they could buy DRM-free games. But it will be too late.
As the old saying goes:
Sometimes you only learn to value a thing when you lose it forever.

În the end, everyone should do their part and vote with their wallets. If Ubisoft keeps their games off GOG, I keep my hands off their games as well.
