adaliabooks: Maybe if you stopped writing in exactly the same way gunsynd did I might believe you. It's kind of hard to find the proof to make it obvious as so many of your posts get deleted, but the way you use smilies is the same and somewhat unusual (who doesn't put spaces before smilies?), you like the same games (Fallout, Skyrim etc.) and I'm not fricking stupid. I can tell you're the same person.
You forgot to mention that he even makes the same, stupid mistakes, like saying "your" when he really means "you're". Everyone who was around when gunsynd became swatkat knows that Tauto is gunsynd.

adaliabooks: No, it's gunsynd. I talked to him quite a bit before he became Tauto. The posting style and way he talks is identical, the games he likes and jokes he makes are the same.
I've played enough mafia to recognise people by their posts.

Does it make sense? No, but it's the truth of the matter.

I'll throw my 2 cents in.

I didn't really realize what we lost until someone really pointed it out to me. And I think it's lost for good. When the folks here were kind and innocent and the occasional idiot or scammer walked through, things were tolerable. But at this appointment, it's gone. And it won't come back.

So I would recommend the following:
No trading on the forums
No giveaways on the forum
Hate speech or criminal activity gets the account warned or banned from the forums
No rep, just days since being a member and number of posts

This gets rid of most of the riff raff. It helps folks talk about games. And gives no reason to hang out if you want to cheat people out of games. And there's no way to attack people like tinyE.

If folks want to do giveaways or trades, there should be a steamgifts type area to do it. So if gog wants us to trade, there should be a place to submit and lock the games away for the trade. But I doubt gog wants us to trade. So just ban it.

The good days are gone when law and order didn't need to be maintained. Now it's time to stop the abused freedoms for the greater good.

And yet, when Alaric made a script for people like me, his alleged "friend", to mute harassment and assorted idiocy, tinyE went apeshit.

I think he was already on a downward trend by that point, but I don't particularly understand or agree with that either.
