Doc0075: I am thinking of using random.org at the end of the fight to select who gets the special prizes but should everyone be in with a chance or just those who qualified for round 3?
I don't mind if the final 4 fighters win the special prizes simply because the fact the order of the R3 contestants were already randomized as you described in #884 ("The list above is not the order people will enter in. I will use random.org to determine the order but will not post it as I think it is more interesting if you only find out the order as it happens") has roughly the same end effect for round 3 contestants?

Doc0075: So I need some feedback on how to select the winners of the four special prizes. It was originally going to be the the last four contestants but with the Royal Rumble event, that is not fair as the last people to enter will have a much greater chance of winning.

only those who qualified for round 3.
and why not use those good old dices to pick 4 luckiest combatants from the winners? you know, every still standing one throws a pair and then those with 4 highest results are the ones. no?

ConsulCaesar: Perhaps give an extra prize (since there is an excess anyway) or chance (even pick first?) to whoever stands for the longest number of fights in the Rumble.
also, second this.

Sinze everything is random anyway: Let the winners be the winners! Winning should mean something.

Thank you for your feedback, I will stick with the final four of the Royal Rumble winning the special prizes.
Let the dice gods decide the outcome.
One could even say that back at the arena... things are about to get dicey ^^' Literally.

(but alas, let's roll with it and not get dice-tracted, to make sure nobody dice)
Really curious who is gonna make it in the end!
Sticking to do dices seems good to me as well.
Let's see if somebody gets some mad luck in the end and overstays his welcome in the Arena ^^
The way I see it, since the entry order is randomly selected, it is already fair in giving an advantage to the last fighters to enter the arena. It's as if the top four had already a winner number, but the Royal Rumble will give a second chance to those who didn't win to climb into the top four, with those who ranked lower having a more difficult road to the top.

phaolo: Mm.. maybe you could do 4 subgroups in the Royal Rumble, and the winners of those will get the extra prize.
It's like you make fighters enter from the 4 corners of the arena and they'll immediately fight with each other.
Then the 4 survivors will have a final showdown in the center to determine the ultimate winner.

In this way, the people with the unlucky roll will have to win a max of 7 fights, instead of the impossible 31 (plus the last battle).
This sounds fun! That way, the last four would be actually real finalists from 4 different groups. Then there can be some final 2-3 fights to get the absolute champion, subchampion and the third and fourth place.

It makes all more fun and meaningful.

Also, more honours to be shared: first, second and third positions for each group, I to IV.

you are talking good.

ConsulCaesar: Everybody will have the same chances to get the regular prizes, so I think it's fine to grant the big four to the winners of the Rumble. And ut'll make the Rumble a lot more dramatic to read!

Perhaps give an extra prize (since there is an excess anyway) or chance (even pick first?) to whoever stands for the longest number of fights in the Rumble. That way going first is an advantage on its own too.
This kind of “achievement” sounds fun as well!
LOL that was awesome - fights are getting really quick and frenetic in the Battle Royale - which is just as it should be. Bummed for Rudolph! Liked some of his previous fights and thought he had a nice outside chance being one of Santa's crew and all.

Round 3 continued...

Skipping towards the ring is (27) Lillith, Jack curses himself for forgetting his earplugs.

Jack the Knack rolls 4
Lillith rolls 2

As Lillith climbs into the ring he pulls out a tie that was dropped by a bank manager earlier in the tournament and wraps it tightly around her mouth to stop her deadly screams.
Lillith puts her hands on her hips and stomps her feet.

Loud patriotic music blares out as (110) <censored> strides towards the ring. He climbs through the ropes and addresses the crowd "Thank you, you look awesome, I feel awesome myself, I am the most awesome of all us here."

*ATTACK ORDER DICE ROLL*
Jack the Knack attacks Lillith
Lillith attacks Jack the Knack (counts as same dice roll as above as both attack each other)
<censored> attacks Lillith

* DICE ROLL *
Jack the Knack rolls 7
Lillith rolls 6

Jack leans on his back and balancing Lillith on his powerful hind legs, spins her round and round in the air. He puts her back on her feet and she staggers from dizziness.

* DICE ROLL *
<censored> rolls 9
Lillith rolls 6

<censored> addresses the dizzy little girl "I see your head spinning because - my head sometimes spins too, when my head spins it spins better than all others. My son is often dizzy - it is his genes, he has good genes, awesome genes - my genes are the best American genes, pure genes..."
<censored> waffles on for the next 20 minutes, always redirecting the conversation to talk about his greatness.
Lillith has had enough. She yanks the tie from her mouth and glares at the other two combatants, who instinctively cover their ears.
Lillith storms out of the ring in search of the girl with the dolls house to play with.

The next contestant is announced over the tannoy as the flying squirrel, (112) Stamat. The two in the ring instinctively look to the sky but instead Stamat rolls down the arena and into the ring, now shaped like a chubby cheeked football.

*ATTACK ORDER DICE ROLL*

Stamat attacks Jack the Knack
Jack the Knack attacks Stamat (counts as the same dice roll as above as both attack each other)

* DICE ROLL *
<censored> rolls 5
Jack the Knack rolls 11

<censored> starts to drone on about if he was a kangaroo he would be the best kangaroo of them all but Jack is having none of it.
"Strewth mate, you could bore for Queensland!" Jack grabs <censored>'s ginger wig, rips it from his head and stuffs it so far down his throat that <censored> chokes and drops dead to the canvas. The other contestants cheer until the defeated <censored> appears next to them in the arenas seating and they have to listen to him up close.

* DICE ROLL *
Stamat rolls 7
Jack the Knack rolls 11

Stamat turns his big eyes on Jack who snorts "So it's more food you're after then you furry tree rat?" Jack produces a watermelon, punches the centre out of it and jams Stamat in so that his head is sticking out of one end and his rump the other.
Jack the Knack then punts the watermelon clear out of the arena.

Stamat reappears back in the arena next to a purple monkey.

The legend that is (64) Hazaradam strides confidently towards the ring, not worried by some oversized, boxing mouse.

Man Jack the Knack is cleaning house
Jack the Knack is a formidable contestant. The audience is chanting his name, there's an energy in the arena now.
