A beautiful intro, "deep in the Caribbean, Mêlee Island", they are saying that it is the very dark of the Caribbean, the genuine, the when it is not necessary, perhaps the past, or the future, indeterminate. A landscape, a night and a fire, the camera focuses on this. Suddenly, an old man appears around the fire and a young man like you.

"My name is Guybrush Threepwood and I want to be a pirate." The introduction is over. You know his name and the purpose of the story in one sentence. You don't know where he was, what family he is from, if he's rich or not. If you have studies or your profession. Do you need money for the story? All this is not important, and if it is, in the progress of the game you will know it.

A game in which a young boy can put himself in the role, or a person with a young soul :) A story of pirates, but love will appear while you solve puzzles and discover the story. A way of the hero. Of personal discovery. A story of pirates like Robinson Crusoe or Treasure Island.

And all this in two sentences. And with only 16 colours of palette. Masterly.

Story-wise, nothing. It is the same glorious Monkey Island as it always has been. Only the graphics and sounds are updated. You can press ... was it F10? at any time to switch to the 256-colour VGA mode if you think something has changed.
