bjgamer: I am sad to have to tell you all that B passed away last week. (I am J, his wife.) We have donated here a few times and ran giveaways together, but the Talk Like A Pirate Day giveaway was his own based on his quirky sense of humor. I am still grieving the loss of my husband and best friend and am not up to running it this year, so finkleroy has received the few codes we had gotten for it before B became sick. To those who receive these games, please enjoy them.

To all here, I'm sure B would want to wish you -
"Fair winds, smooth sailing, bountiful treasure and a hold full o' GroG, me hearties!"
My condolences! Best wishes for J and all the family.

Aartya: Hey everybody,
I'm new to how all this works I did read the rules but i still could not understand how this works I would love if somebody could explain this to me .
First, welcome to gog. In this giveaway you can request games availables on the second post of this thread. The codes of the games are sent by other users who want to donate these games to finkleroy, who manage the giveaway and decide if you are elegible to receive the game, at his discretion. If you are an active member of the forum posting or donate games, you should be elegible to claim a game. Hope this help to you.
Thanks bjgamer for The Curse of Monkey Island!

Really sorry to hear about your husband... not really sure if there is anyway I can help...

I'm new to how all this works I did read the rules but i still could not understand how this works I would love if somebody could explain this to me .
1. Every month, those who are eligible can choose one game from the main game list (the list marked non-daggered) in Post 2 of this thread and also near any number of games from the other two lists (daggered games, and the free games below the daggered games) in that same post.

Each new month on the 1st(at a time OP decides), one's game limit will reset.

2. To be eligible, one needs to participate in the forums by posting to the various (non contest) threads here in the gog forums for a bit, talk to and with other users, and become part of the regular forum community.

3. Once you have enough posting in non contest threads under your belt, you can ask for the games you want here (as per step 1 above), and the OP will tell you if you're eligible & if your request was granted.

Extra notes: All games picked must be redeemed on your own account and no one else's, and when you are granted games you must accept PMs from the thread OP(Finkleroy) by adding them as a friend so they can PM you the game codes to add them to your account.

All the above said: you seem to have not posted much on the forums yet, so you're likely not eligible at the moment, but if you follow the steps above(especially step 2) you should be eligible soon enough.

arsalan12: I am very sorry to hear this and may he rest in peace. My Father also passed away today because of Dementia and I can feel what you're going through right now. Stay strong.
Sorry to hear about your father's passing as well.....having lost my mum about 2 years back, I know how it feels, and hope you'll be able to move past this sad moment as soon as possible.

Okay I understand now so being active part of the community is more important

Yes, the gist of it is you need to show the OP here(finkleroy) you're here to be part of the forum community by posting to other threads besides just contests and getting to know the other forum users for a bit.

Then once you do that, you can then try asking for game(s) from Post 2(1 non daggered game per month limit, no limit on the other two lists in that post)...and if the OP deems you eligible you will then be granted the games you asked for.

aRealCyborg: Thanks bjgamer for The Curse of Monkey Island!

Really sorry to hear about your husband... not really sure if there is anyway I can help...
You are all very welcome. Please enjoy your games, that is what B would have wanted most.

Thank you all for your condolences and memories of B. I know he would be surprised and touched to know so many of you remember him this way. I never meant to derail this thread. finkleroy requested I explain what had happened and I agreed you all should know. Please enjoy your games. I will be returning from time to time and may run another GA on my own sometime, but for now thank you all sincerely for the stories and the memories you have shared and the kindness you have extended to B and now myself.

Hoist yer tankards, mateys! May ye find treasure beyond measure in each and every day.

bjgamer: I am sad to have to tell you all that B passed away last week. (I am J, his wife.) [...]
My exchanges with you and your hubby have been brief and regrettably short-lived: mainly aboard Captain BJ's & Admiral Polly's pirate ship and during the Penguin Lovers 2020 New Years Party and when I was struck by a Random Act of Holiday Cheer. As brief as they were, those moments left an impression on me and fueled a fondness of B's upbeat energy and quirky magnetism. It truly saddened me when I read your post. ;( All I feel like doing right now is to reach out and hug you.
Blimey! How dare he abandon his Mateys!
T-- th-- that scoun..drel…

It was because of Capt'n B that I learned that there is such a thing as "International Talk Like a Pirate Day".

I also received a copy of Torchlight 2 from one of his giveaways, which I thoroughly enjoyed to finish. His mark will always remain in that gifted copy, and I will remember him by that.

Thank you very much for those and may you rest in peace Capt'n B.

I always find it weird to say B&J together to address someone, so I omit that part and just write "Capt'n gamer" instead, but I understand the reason behind the name now; it turns out I was actually being disrespectful by omitting the most important portion, my bad, sorry about that.

I know that the wound is still fresh, but you still came here to lets us know. Though it was a disheartening news, I still appreciate it. Thank you.
Was bjgamer the pirate penguin from that D and D forum game last year? Sorry for your loss. T_T

Very sorry for your loss, J. I will never forget his and your exceptional resourcefulness on the forums. I was very glad to read your posts. Take care.
