I have had things go the other way and I have totally forgetting I had gifted something and seeing a nice thank you in my message box. I will say for me personally I didn't care as much when I have gifted Steam keys but GOG stuff tends to hold more weight since someone had to go buy it for gifting and may not have just had it "lying around"
