Cavalary: Anything else may be replaced, but when a HDD goes with data on it not backed up elsewhere, that's a worse issue. And even if backed up, it takes a while to get things back to how they should be, if they ever do get just back there. .

Vythonaut: ...unless you' ve been a little provident and kept a system image in case your HDD goes south. ;)
One thing I still didn't even get around to looking into. Took 3 HDD failures to teach me to keep a full backup of files on a 2nd HDD in the computer, with a script updating daily, alongside a more or less monthly external backup of files I can't get again otherwise if lost (documents, pictures, saved games, favorites), still there after 4th and 5th (months apart, Oct 2012 and Feb 2013).
Incidentally, was just reminded of that Oct 2012 failure these days because I noticed my system uptime, 21 days and 1 hour at the moment, and have a screenshot of what was most probably a record set just then, 21 days and 16 hours. Had noticed HDD locking during that time, was getting worse, hoped I'd be able to save that screenshot at least, then rebooted to run tests and system wouldn't boot back up, kept freezing... Still under warranty, replaced in November, lasted all of those 3 months. A Seagate ES.2, got it just for supposed reliability and that was its 3rd failure under warranty and 4th replacement, as first replacement after the first failure was DoA. When I complained, shop offered me the amount I originally paid for it as discount for something else and I replaced it with a WD Black and made this the backup one, and bought a WD Raptor along with it as new primary, ditching the old IDE one I had been using for backup till then. So far those 2 caused no problems. Let's hope they'll continue that way...

And yeah, outdated images may be even more confusing, if you forgot what you did since they were made. Depends.

I may be the one who talks about providence etc but neither have I invested some time to take system images. :P I do, however, backup manually my most important files (mainly photographs and documents) in four different places (desktop HDD, external HDD, DVD, a small usb flash stick). Other than that, I think it has been more than a decade since a HDD failed for me. But 3 HDD failures... ouch!

Again, I appreciate the gesture, but this is a title I am not really sure I want to own. I bought/played the game when it was released and remember it being mediocre and had even forgotten about its existence until it popped up here. Which while that is intriguing and was initially exciting, to me, it doesn't warrant acquiring the game.

There's 274 games on my WL. I would say only maybe 80 of them are games that have a "serious interest" rating for me / that I'd be comfortable entering a giveaway for or that I'm super-inclined to have be part of my library any time soon. The rest are too distant of an interest or have uncertainties/uncarings about them or require more research/reflection from me on whether I want them or not.

I'm partially inclined to remove everything that isn't a "must have" for me from my list, but I really like having it as a reference for "semi-interest, look into further, maybe someday that will interest me to get" list.

I don't think there are any games currently in TGA that interest me enough to receive. I've received some premium games here these past months, I'd be happy to not feel the urge for anything more for some months to come! Of course, we'll see with those sneaky generous contributors!

--- edit ----

I just went through and assessed what games/how many I actually would be urged to enter a GA for/willing to accept as a gift/the nomination for, and it's like 40-45, everything else falls on the range between "don't really know, don't really care, don't want to consider making the time for at this point" and so on.

This past year has been a wrecking ball to my most-desired things on my WL to a large degree!! Acquiring all games that had been tops for a long time and many near-tops/still highly desired games (or games that werelong time coming wants, pending their GOG release.) Some were from gifts/GAs thanks to all the lovelygood ppls here, some gotten myself thanks to killer sales from GOG, all together making my list a much less weighty mountain of "ohmyyy, there are so many!" It no longer feels like that! This past year I've gotten all-time tops like: TIE Fighter, Gothic, Dark Sun, Noctropolis, the rest of the Star Wars catalogue having gone on sale a couple times and getting all of that, Outlaws, Rex Nebular and a few other un-expected high additions like UnderRail from here, and Mount & Blade + Warband from the last big sale! Goodness, what greatness!! kickingbutt~!

I completely get you. I add games I think might look a little bit interesting but don't really want to play right now.

This community is a wonderful and giving community and I love them bunches. <3

I have the same problem with that, I look at a game and think it might be interesting so I stick it into the wishlist for future consideration and the next thing I know I it's overflowing with titles I only vaguely remember. I used to have around 200 on the list but I've managed to trim it down to under 100.

Aawww...
Either you posted in wrong thread or you misread the available games list because LoG2 is not available.
