misteryo: Question: How exactly is TW3 being gifted? Has the restriction on gifting this title been lifted?
avatar
moonshineshadow: The code was originally an nvidia code and the member who donated it had it transformed to a regular giftcode by Firek.
Ah ha!

Thanks.

trentonlf: Because I checked all the codes before I sent them, I just did not redeem any of them. I don't want to elaborate on anything specific about he person who gifted the game, but I assure you it was bought in December.

HypersomniacLive: I don't want to know anything about the person that gifted the game. I'm just curious how it's possible to purchase TW3 as a gift in December 2015, and it not being an exception. The only possible way I can see is for a person from the UK to already have TW3, purchase TW3+Expansion Pass as a gift, redeem the Expansion Pass themselves, and gift the game to someone else.

Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread any longer. As I said, I don't want you to reveal anything about this specific case and the involved parties.
I'm wondering whether the game might have temporarily giftable at some point during the Winter Sale. If it was giftable for only a few days (not including a Sunday), MaGog wouldn't have noticed it.
If we stop making this thread about The Witcher 3 that would be great.

Hmmm... if GOG did that, they sure kept it a secret, not something I'd hold in their favour, if true.

OTOH, wouldn't someone have noticed (the gift box would not be greyed out, right?) and posted in, at least, one of the Winter Sale threads? For instance, the person that gifted it in the Secret Santa event? If they benefited form it, why keep it to themselves? Especially since there was quite some talk about this in that specific thread.

It should be rather easy to check which days TW3 was on sale, and if MaGog (could have) missed it.
0_0 Strange .

No one requested Balls of Steel , Rogue Legacy , Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri , Thunderscape or Triple Town ?

Come on Sherlocks find these games a good home .
I want to be a Sherlock! That said, I would like to make a few nominations:
skeletonbow for Rogue Legacy
PainOfSalvation for Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri

(I just love MaGog)

Unfortuntely, I'm travelling and don't have access to MaGog's historical logs from the time.

Thank you so much, drealmer7, for thinking of me; and timmy010 for donating the code itself. As well as an extra-big thanks to moonshineshadow for a) running this ongoing giveaway, and b) making me aware of this thread's existence.

As a pay-it-forward kind of thing, I've gone and donated a little something to the till. And as soon as I get myself oriented around here, I'm planning to make a few nominations of my own.

I inherited mine from my grandpa. They make a wonderful musical chime as they bounce around in my hand.
