Yup, a new sleuth game is ready. But this time it's just a forum game, NOT a giveaway. Last time there were some nice users who offered to sponsor the prize (thanks a lot once again!) but this time please do not send me any codes. Let us just have some fun being detectives ;)

Usually I recommended checking out previous mysteries but right now I strongly encourage you to check at least the last one because what we have now is the continuation of that story. You can still solve it without reading the previous one but some things could be useful so take a look: The Case of the Razor (there are links to other mysteries there too if you want to read them)

The Case of the Glass Container

Last time you, a brave detective, proved that Dennis McCrary was the one who had killed Andersons. He pleaded guilty but refused to talk about his motives. Therefore you went to check out his newly build lab. It turned out to be far more interesting than you could have imagined! You've learned that the entire complex was built by Anderson's order! They provided all needed funds. But what's even more interesting - even though everything was ready the lab was never used for any experiment. Basically it was perfectly equipped so that scientists could start their work right away but it never actually happened. You have found some letters from Andersons to McCrary. They gave him money so that he could build a proper lab but... he was never meant to work there! He was hired to build and equip the lab so that... doctor Scott Kane could work on his power pill project! But you've also found something more sinister within the lab. In one of the big glass containers you've found a body of Dennis Johnson - well known associate and a lab assistance of Dennis McCrary. Only four people had an access to the building: three security guards (Roy Spacey, Jacob Ward, Miguel Rodriguez) and a financial supervisor (Sophia White). Before you got their testimonies you had checked McCrary's computer. Unfortunately everything was encrypted. So far you were only able to crack a file which contained a few personal notes of McCrary. Even though they seem obscure you are sure you cracked the file correctly. Here are his notes:
- Son of an Andrew! I hate them!
- Buckra is always checking up on me!
- Second D forget where is his place!
- Big Jaw is smart. Too smart. He can be a spy or something.
- If something goes wrong I will have to ask to kill second D. Too bad!
- R's head is literally empty. When you look deep into his eyes you will see his occiput.
- Hospital is playing on my nerves again!
- Wisdom is plotting something!
- I can't believe Spik has a crush on her!
- He knows too much. Somebody will have to kill him when I am not here. could do it but I'm not sure... it's too risky!
- I'm sure that Cheapskate would kill somebody if that was profitable. Interesting...
- I will not let some Sugar take over my place!
- Mr. Vampire. Always hiding. Always watching. Always ready to act!
- I'm not sure if I've ever seen somebody washing his hands as carefully as Non-Kevin does. Amusing.

EDIT: a few more lines were added. Check this post for details

And the testimonies:

Sophia White: It was Miguel Rodriguez, I'm sure of that! I hate those immigrants, I hate them! I was just about to enter the room where you found the body! And he came out of it and blocked the entrance. He started to babble something about his salary but I couldn't understand him at all. First: his terrible accent. Second: chewing gum! I think I've never seen him without one! It's disgusting! But this time he was chewing it so nervously! And then finally he put his hand on my shoulder and forced me to walk down the hall! He obviously didn't want me to come into the room. But he knew he wouldn't hold me for a long time so Ward came to assist him! He asked about the salary as well. But Ward... well he always seemed to be a decent guy so I agreed to have a talk with him. But now I'm not so sure. Perhaps they are both guilty?

Jacob Ward: I'm very troubled by the recent events. First Denis McCrary turned out to be a murderer and now Dennis Johnson was murdered! What's happening here?! I thought it was supposed to be a scientific laboratory but it turns out that something sinister is happening here. Why? But some people had known that something was about to happen! One week ago, even before McCrary crime, Johnson asked me if I ever killed a man. Then he asked me if my gun is loaded and assured me that there was nothing wrong in killing somebody in a self defense. Can you imagine? Sophia was also very upset the whole week. And normally she was a very joyful person. Of course if Miguel was not around. Speaking about Miguel... you know, the room where you found the body? That was Miguel's region. He swears that he didn't noticed the body but well... isn't it a bit strange? And Roy... the death of Denis didn't move him at all. But on the other hand he's never showing his emotions. Never. I don't know who did it. I saw all of them around this room. Roy went to the toilet which is right next to this door. Sophia was going there but Miguel came out and stopped her. I doubt any of them could see me, I was standing in the dark but I approached Sophia and Miguel because I was afraid they would start quarreling again.

Roy Spacey: Three security guards for such a big complex is not enough. But McCrary never listened to me. I told him. So many times. And I was right apparently. Three guards was not enough. Perhaps only two assuming that the another one is a murderer. But I don't know. It could be Sophia as well. Don't think that it's not her because she is too weak to drag the body. No, she's not. I've seen her in a body building gym once. She is strong. Much stronger then she looks. But I'm not accusing anybody. I wasn't in this room today although I was pretty close. I was in the toilet right next to it. I've heard Sophia and Miguel and after some time Jacob as well. But when I left nobody was there.

Miguel Rodriguez: Man, it's not me, I swear it! Yeah, yeah, yeah I know, I know. It was my region and I was in this room several times. Right. But do you think I pay attention to this creepy lab stuff?! Have you seen Alien: Resurrection? This damn glass container looks exactly like the one they used to breed Ripley. I'm always trying to stay as far as possible from it. Damn! Do you have a chewing gum? I don't know where is mine! Anyway, it was not me! I believe it wasn't Sophia neither. I mean she can be pretty nasty but she doesn't have guts to kill anybody. Jacob had a lot of conspiracy theories and he kept sharing it with everybody. Something is not right with this guy.

And my final question: who is the murderer and how can you prove it?

Is it too difficult or are you guys too busy or too lazy? ;)

Ghorpm: too lazy? ;)
This. :p
I am waiting for my GF. When she makes some time, we will look into it.

Ghorpm: too busy
this.

(To the point where i had entirely forgotten about it, too eventful days)
Yeah, squeezing in the time to pore over the details is proving a tad difficult. As a question, though, is the use of both gender possessives in the comment about R's head deliberate, to mask their gender, or a typo?
Well, we made some time, but we were unable to crack it.
So far we were able to assign all nicks to people and we have some big suspect and one minor one, but so far we don't have damning proof and need to work on it more.

Spinorial: As a question, though, is the use of both gender possessives in the comment about R's head deliberate, to mask their gender, or a typo?
Typo, I'm sorry for that. His eyes, his head.
Another nice puzzle, thanks Ghorpm :)

I'll come back and look at this properly soon, but an observation for now, perhaps to get things moving (this is stating the obvious, but sometimes that can be a good trigger or starting point for an idea!). Obviously those encrypted notes of McCrary's are going to help solve this, and they must refer to different staff members or colleagues. I suspect cracking those would be a good place to start.

We're looking for:
Buckra
Second D (male) (perhaps the victim?)
Big Jaw (male)
R (male)
Hospital
Wisdom
Son of an Andrew - Andersons?

We have:
Sophia White
Jacob Ward
Roy Spacey
Miguel Rodriquez
Dennis Johnson (victim)
Dr Scott Kane
The Andersons - I reckon are 'Son of an Andrew!', hence the 'I hate them!', as well as the wordplay in the nickname.

Back later...

Vitek: but we were not unable to crack it.
Uh, that's... good, right ?

Timelord1963: I suspect cracking those would be a good place to start.
I think I've got some of these down.

Second D is probably the murdered assistant, as both him and McCrary were called Dennis, no-one else has a D-name, and the styling makes sense, from McCrary's POV.
Big Jaw, I suspect, is Rodriguez, referring to his gum-chewing habit.
R could be Roy Spacey. The name matches and his testimony is rather single-minded, also indicating animosity with McCrary.
Hospital is possibly referring to Jacob Ward. Geddit? Ward? Yeah, real cute :|
Wisdom is likely Sophia White. Sophia happens to be the Greek word for wisdom.

As to "Son of an Andrew", I thought it might be something like rhyming slang for "Son of a Gun"? Not sure. Also, not sure who Buckra would refer to. It appears to be a racist term for one's boss or overseer. So, could be the Andersons,... Sophia White,... Dr Kane, perhaps?

I'm keen, but this puzzle appeared amongst a pile of other puzzles and script requests. Buried at the moment.

I'm happy to see a new mystery from you though, thanks!
