JMich: The few times I had trouble with them (open garden around the house doesn't really help with insect control), the Raid Bait Traps seemed to work fine, especially since they don't have negatives of spray (no need to close the house after you spray, or air it for a few hours before going back inside).
Thanks, those sound like a good idea. I am not familiar at all with cockroach problems, so I was still unaware of all the possibilties. I hope they are selling those traps here too (why not, I think Finland has cockroaches of its own even though they don't like cold winters). Yesterday I did spray some generic Raid spray (apparently meant for "crawling and flying insects and ants") into some crack I thought cockroaches could use a passageway, but I presume it is not potent enough for cockroaches. But at least scare them off a little, maybe to another aparment? :)
Anyway, so far I've seen only one, and my gf possibly killed one (hopefully the same one). But I presume that doesn't really say anything how many there might be, as to my understanding they usually move only in dark, and otherwise stay invisible to human eye.
