SladeStrife: hey everyone so to make a very long story short my family sucks me my mom dad and lil bro had a house fire a year back and we where left with nowhere to go i have a knee injury so its hard to get work and my dad home schools my lil bro and i was pretty much taking care of my grandma till she passed recently

well my ant and uncle took us in and quickly started sapping my moms paycheck for "rent" well we all signed a new lease in jan so we would be togeather and could help each other with rent and such so we could save up some money...well fast forward to now they took there bi-weekly "rent" and then told us the next day there moving out this thursday...we found out on tuesday

so this means we where given no time at all to prepare to save or well anything and they are pretty much taking our money and throwing us under the bus we are now trying to to get money and such togeather we will be fine...well possibly it depends mainly if we can get the appartment approved in our name but we will be loosing internet and alot of other things but i mainly wanted to say goodbye to this amazing community and im glad to have been apart of it

i will be back eventually hopefully sooner rather then later and im glad to have gotten a few games that i will be able to play while not collected to the internet fer the next 2 weeks to 2 months but yea thank you fer an amazing community ^.^

I am not in position to help you but I give you my best wishes....
oh yea they are they treated us like trash and like they where better then us the whole time we have been there the only good thing coming out of all of this is them leaving and thank you very much im sure we will be fine eventually its just very stressing and me being off my pills and such dosent help things much lol
I am a bachelor, but not like the tv show. My fridge is empty. I am eating a block of cheese. I am doing laundry late at night. Waiting on said laundry. Etc etc.

I always wanted Bachelor Chow (the Futurama gag advert), I guess granola is pretty much it anyway.

I remember that from the intro? It is attractive in its simplicity.

Time for a trip to the grocery. Anyway, cheese was getting a bit too much, so, despite the work meeting scheduled tomorrow, I have opened the Woodford Reserve bourbon whiskey. Thinking I will be a punk and have with ice. According to the interweb, I can expect:

Michael
Nose: Cigar-boxes. Hint of charcoal.
Palate: Very firm. Full of flowers, lightly combined. Whole almonds. Marzipan.
Finish: Very long. Flowery. Violets.
Comments: Perhaps encouraged by the dark-orange colour, the descriptors sound sweet, but the overall effect is one of pithy dryness, with great finesse.

Jim
Nose: Pronounced oak, softened by fruity rye and gentle vanilla. A little toffee and honey.
Palate: Big, big lift off with a powerful oaky-rye surge and an immediate arrival of spice. Toasty toward the middle with the corn arriving late on.
Finish: Long, cocoa and oak finale, burnt toast with a spread of honey. Comments: More oak and age than normal. Being small batch, it does vary but is always delicious.

EDIT: IT TASTES LIKE WHISKEY. IT ALSO TASTES BROWN.

Enjoy your whiskey, I haven't been drinking much the last few weeks, will make up for it at PAX, though.

Me neither. Work, work, working late and working early, have to stay shiny and clear-headed.

Have fun at PAX! Dress up as a grue!
So, my roommate (exgf) and I are now just roommates....

No cuddling, or any other thing now.........

I have a date with a different woman tonight and another date Sunday.........

If I don't post next week someone send me flowers at the hospital...

Make sure you have the baseball bat at your side. :)

I won't hit a woman..... She wanted to just be friends/roommates so should I not date?

I don't mean to sound full of myself but I am kind of the total package ;)

Well you did say "If I don't post next week, someone send me flower to the hospital." so I presumed she was mad at you. eh sorry
So I had yet another fight with the girlfriend, and was at the verge of cheating on her which would seriously go against my principles.

Instead here I am with a glass of vodka and coke, hacking away on the DC3 Digital Forensics Challenge. This is going to be an interesting night if I can manage to keep my mood.

On the downside, I'm scared that this is going to put me in another downward spiral where I end up wasting all my time coding or working on some random crap that won't bring anything tangible on return.

The last time this happened I got out pretty scarred due to all the alcohol and sleep deprivation so I hope to find some balance. It doesn't help that the weekend is here and I have absolutely no plan whatsoever nor anyone to go out with and lots of alcohol inside.

Hey there buddy! Currently in a bachelor jag, my truck won't start, I have NO groceries except for butter, olive oil, limes, seasoning, no grocery store within walking distance, but I do have: kahlua, vodka, gin, rum, bourbon.

All I can tell you is keep your chin up, and you did the right thing by not cheating. To me, there's almost literally no greater betrayal then that. You can never, ever come back from it in a serious relationship without some serious counseling or soul searching.

Plus, look on the brightside. You atleast have coding to enjoy/keep your occupied. In my depression, I've abandoned all my activities I did to keep myself going on an even keel, and can't get back into the swing of them. As long as you have something you enjoy doing that makes you happy/keeps you from being batcrap crazy insane depressed, revel in it.

What projects/applications/whathasits are you working on?

Hawk52: What projects/applications/whathasits are you working on?
Right now I'm working on the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) Digital Forensics Challenge. Got through the level 100 ones pretty easy (done a lot of Windows admining so I know my way around the registry) but am now stuck at the end of the level 200 one on some memory dump which I can't wrap my head around (need some more vodka I guess).

It's fun to take part in it, even if you don't get far, because it gets your hands dirty and you always learn new tricks (if these kinds of challenges are your style), even by hitting google for directions and going step by step and fine tuning your methodology.
Found some popcorn seeds, cooked them in olive oil...

I am out of olive oil....aaaggghghghghgh
