Lost my camera... Sure, it was one of the cheapest even back when I got it, now any smartphone is better than that, but I don't want a smartphone and, either way, there were the pictures taken that day, and plenty of others taken by parents still on the card, which they might not have saved elsewhere (asked and they weren't sure)...
I guess that's what you get trying to function on basically no sleep. Was bound to bite me someday...
Tree planting event Saturday, had to be at the meeting place early and with me being a full night owl, if I got half an hour of sleep I'd be surprised. But all well for the event itself, get on the last bus (buses left as they filled, as volunteers who had arrived by bus called it a day), for some reason decide not to look through the pictures there, as I otherwise did every time I took the camera for something, just put it back in the cover and put it away... And whether I wanted to put it in the backpack and missed or actually put it in my jacket and it fell when my jacket fell out of my arms, or whether that happened just as I meant to put it in the backpack and I set it down to retrieve the jacket and then forgot about it, no idea, have absolutely no memory of it. Probably relaxed after thinking that I had made it through the day and parts of brain were starting to doze off...
There's also a chance it was in jacket and it fell after I stepped off the bus. Small chance, but...
Either way, what's clear is that I didn't have it when I got back, and asked the NGO organizing the event, they asked the bus company, and today was told they didn't find anything on that bus.
