Glad to see I'm not the only one. Freaked out a little.

Ahhh, GOG, full of good intentions, but sometimes so awkward in carrying them...
I also had this happen to me, I'm assuming it's a gift and just an unfortunately presented email but I emailed GOG support just for conformation so I don't have to be scared about it. That gave me a real scare I don't even have any payment options tied to my account so if someone did get my info I would have had no clue.
OK, i'm not alone.... :D

Got also paniced, write to support, what this order is....

Ok, looks like a failed Information Policy
I would just like to +1 this.

Received an email 1hr ago confirming my purchase of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered for $10.35

In a panic to shut down any potential breach I changed my GOG details immediately. I check my bank however and there had been no such transaction.

The game has indeed been added to my account so I dismissed the notion that this was a phishing attempt.
I have 2FA enabled on GOG and I did not see that anyone had attempted to access my account to make the purchase
I also was not prompted to authorize any such transaction through my bank's Authenticator app.
I also don't store payment info at GOG.
Then I decided to check here and was glad to find this thread!

Surely there should be a note like "FREE!" on the transactions page??
I had all this happen also, but now my Wishlist and shopping cart is broken. I just get the error page when trying to access either since his went through, although I can check my library and order history.

Anyone else have this problem, or is it just some unrelated coincidence? It was working fine yesterday.
All owners of the original will receive the Remastered version as a gift, and all who purchase the Remastered version will receive the original as a gift!

Read this on the 3 masterpieces from Quantic Dream, GIVEAWAY, 900+ bargains – join the celebration of our 15th Anniversary! thread, so it does look like it is a gift, just handed to you with a credit card reader in hand for unrelated reasons.

I did not see a bank account charge, my wallet funds are untouched and my account security seems solid, so the gift seems to be a purchase made on your behalf for you on the technical side, if that makes sense. Not sure if they have a better way of doing this, but an additional email or something else than a forum post would have been nice, as I barely even remember that the forums are a thing.

I also cannot access parts of my GOG account, like profile. I can see my order history however.
Holy Sh*t I've just wasted almost an hour of my time finding out if I was compromised. Checked Paypal and everything.

That SUCKS!

Edit: Also parts of the Page/Profile Section are offline.

I'm trying to find the right words for how this situation has been handled. Rather than say, send a bespoke email congratulating everyone who thought, "This David Cage fellow seems alright" and wilfully bought some of the most unconventional writing committed into the English Language that wasn't a cipher by someone off their rocker, they basically shoved it between the cushions on the forums that most of you never thought to visit before today.

And while I do welcome anyone who wishes to stay with open arms, I'm entirely understanding how many of you wouldn't seek to be here in the first place.
Same thing to me. Just a waste of time checking everything. All these posts make me feel good.
Okay, I'm not the only one.

I appreciate the gesture, but that mail was REALLY damn misleading. I already went ahead and changed everything in a hurry. Ruined my lunch break, TBH.
from GOG.com post "All owners of the original will receive the Remastered version as a gift, and all who purchase the Remastered version will receive the original as a gift! No such thing as too much Fahrenheit and we want you to enjoy it however you prefer."
Yeah, so I just had a small panic attack at work and wasted GoG's time by submitting a support ticket because of this.
Welp.
OK, good to find this thread. That was a journey. Was it a phishing email? They so often pretend you've made some purchase you haven't to tempt you to click on their link. No, the order was on Gog, so was my account hacked? Check of my bank shows no payment. So I check here before sending off a panicked ticket, and apparently it's... whatever this is, but I'm not alone.

Like, if it's what it looks like, I appreciate the gesture from the publishers and Gog to upgrade my version of the game but please for the love of God do not do it this way again. And issue an official statement clearing this up as quickly as possible.

I think they'll get the message once they get all the support tickets.
