Good news for all space explorers! Today Stellaris receives a free Lem Update, honoring the 100th year anniversary of Stanisław Lem, the author of such sci-fi classics as Solaris, Cyberiad, and The Invincible.

The update features new Tradition Trees, as well as some new Plantoids, Humanoids, Necroids, and fixes that enhance the whole gaming experience. The full list of changes can be found here.

When will the 3.1 patch appear on the offline backup installers list?

Bring it on already! :)

Also, it would be nice, if GOG - for a change - were to offer the pure patch and not only the updated files, so that those who don't use galaxy won't have to download the whole shebang again.
But, your servers have to manage the traffic, not mine. :D

An excellent author to honour. If you like to read, read something by Stanisław Lem. What I have read have been well written and thought provoking.

Also, everyone likes free stuff and more content added for free.

That's pretty much normal, at least on Windows. There are delta patches going back to 2.8.x in my library.

Yes, but GOG has a tendency to stall, sometime it lasts weeks until they put up the current patch.

It looks like it's on the list, Patch (3.0.4.1 to 3.1.1) 308 MB and the 3.1 notes are in the changelog.

On the side note, if someone wants to try Lem's books the best in my opinion are Solaris and Fiasco. The first one is affordable for everyone. The second is a really hard sci-fi and only the fans of the genre will like it. Both aged very well and you can hardly recognize how old they are. There's also plenty of other great Lem's books, but these two I liked the most. :)

Solaris is great, but my favourite is definitely Golem XIV. Which is also Lem's favourite, at least that's what I've read somehere.

TBH I heven't read Golem XIV yet. It's on my long "to read" list, but I feel that I need to move it to a higher priority. ;)

Read a Norwegian translation Solaris some time ago. Really deserving of its status as a classic. It's the kind of novel that, like so much of Alfred Bester's work, sets its own agenda.
