Just wanted to thank GOG games for bringing this timeless classic to the PC for download... This is one of my favorite Star Wars games, along with KOTOR ... If you haven't played this game make sure you do... Rogue Squadron is amazing..
Can anyone tell me if the PC version runs significantly better than the N64 game? I already have it in cart form.
well you dont have to blow on the cart to make it work :P

Unfortunately the reviews suggest GOG's version has camera and control issues. The N64 version may be better.

Um.... It's very similar.. I have it in cart form also, the graphics are definitely sharper on the PC .. Gameplay wise it's very similar, although I still need to put more time in before I judge totally... Just got it yesterday..

Controls are fine, I'm using an Xbox 360 wired controller, and I just set up the keypad using Xpadder ... I just use the closer camera view F1 I believe it is, not in the cockpit , but pretty close to the screen.. I did notice the middle view kinda drifts off into the distance,F2... But so far everything is great using the F1 closer view ... I also have the 64 version and so far I'm impressed with the PC one, much sharper graphically .. I"m not a huge graphics guy, more of a game-play guy, so I still like both equally... But it's nice having this game on the go...

Haven't tested that yet... I'll look at that tonight.. I can tell you though without question it's much sharper graphically than the 64 version ....

Doesn't software like Xpadder render the analog of the sticks inert? I'd hate to try to play this with digital movement on an analog stick.

No it does't feel that way at all ... Just got gold on the first 2 levels and the controls feel spot on ... Doesn't feel un-natural at all ... Xpadder has always done a great job for me...
