Momo1991: Profiteroles, perhaps?

IAmSinistar: Oo, yes! I missed those, they were behind the Pfeffernüsse. Those will go lovely, and the Baklava last.
Oh man, there's Baklava? ~drools~
This one is going faster at least... but next up is probably Smugglers V...

At this point I can't hold out any longer. There's still about 10 games I was looking forward to but the waiting has become too stressful and I can't take it anymore. It was fun for the first day and bearable for the second day. Now there's no end in sight. GOG seems determined to stretch this thing out as far as possible even if it means people losing sleep and productivity over it. I do admire the patience and positive attitude of this community but by being so supportive we're potentially convincing GOG to do something even more extreme/harmful in the future.

I'm going to miss out on $40+ of savings but at least I'll sleep well tonight

truhlik77: Someone have spare code for LBA2? Or for trade?
Darn, I checked and only have LBA1

TenkoTAiLS: Damnit, I missed Zork didn't I? Stupid sleep, oh well at least for me its over now. Zork was the last one I was after. Had pretty good luck, managed to snag 10 games I didn't already have, only missed Uru and Zork. If anyone wants to trade or keep me in the game by sleeping and leaving me as lookout in exchange just let me know. It's been a blast guys. The bags under my eyes were worth it haha :)

Kamamura: Did you know that Zork I - III are free now, if I am not mistaken?
I did not, thanks for the heads up :)

Any link to that? I missed it, but no problem as I wasn't even sure if I should buy it.

Sorry but believe it or not we not only support this,
we asked for it! :)
There are plenty of other 'regular' sales here.
Stay tuned. ;)

Ixamyakxim: So, how we all doing? How are things moving along / everyone getting their wants of choice?
Nice of you to ask, my friend. The simple and pleasing answer is yes! I have everything I wanted. A good feeling. I'm just loitering now and enjoying the company of fellow game-heads. How about yourself?

Have you ever had Kunafa? I had it made by an Egyptian family and, oh man, heaven!

NVM. It's OK. :)
I was able to bought only LBA1. But second part was in bad time for me
Grr, I'm going to have to take the bus soon.
I hope that Long Live the Queen doesn't go on before I get back.
I wish you all good luck while I'm gone!
All of your fancy deserts sound wonderful but the giant bucket of fried chicken
I bought before the sale started is one of the best ideas I've ever had. :P

I'm hoping to grab a gift key of that, so I may be able to cover for you if you miss it. Just let us know when you get back on.

Kamamura: Exactly. My idea of a good adventure game is Monkey Island, Blackwell series, Gemini Rue, Dreamweb, Gabriel Knight, stuff like that.

Lot's of stuff to examine, witty comments, dynamic plot, development of characters and their relations, such things.

Those games consisting of a lonely cute female leisurely jogging through a statically rendered 3D scenes where only the item necessary to push the plot forward is interactive are abominations.

Plus I hate arbitrary puzzles!

Yeshu: That's the point of the game. It's like a cold winter dream. It's not about crazy, whimsical adventures ala Monkey Island. It's a journey of a person following his/hers dream no matter how ridiculous it might be. At times it's really surreal but still comprehensible.

If you can't slow down, you wont enjoy the game.

Also, i detect allot of negativity towards the female protagonist. Her being "cute" was never a selling point of the game.
I don't require my adventures to be whimsical and crazy. Blackwell is neither whimsical nor crazy, nor is Dreamweb and Gemini Rue.

However, I need the plot to be strong and interesting on its own, and in that regard, Syberia fails utterly. My suspicion is that the author, being some kind of painter, depended on visuals too much.

As to the protagonist, my negativity is not aimed against her (she is not a real person, after all), but at a clever and somewhat cynical tactics of the game designers who realized, after stunning success of Lara Croft, that a typical gamer of the time is a somewhat lonely geek, so offering him a sort of surrogate relation with the protagonist works very well (the player guides and cares for the protagonist, hence a sort of relationship develops). I don't care for that.

Blackwell series have female protagonists too, but do not depend on this cheap trick.

IAmSinistar: Great, thanks for the info. Perhaps by the time I get around to buying it all the patches will be in place as well.

Oo, yes! I missed those, they were behind the Pfeffernüsse. Those will go lovely, and the Baklava last.
Are you going to have all those in one sitting? ;-P

Never but it looks amazing! Sadly the recipe calls for one package of Kataifi... hmm, googles Whole Paycheck to see if they carry that..

Ah, it is shredded fillo dough - I can do that ;-)
