Everything Interplay 60% off | Price change incoming.

Ever had a really really cool staycation? You know, one where you get some time off just so that you can lock yourself in and chill by your favorite screen, armed with mountains of unwholesome snacks, several gallons of energizing beverages and the all-powerful A/C remote by your side? Well the Interplay Staycation is shaping up to be a pretty epic one!
These golden classics will soon have their prices increased so don't dally: grab them now for 60% off and prepare for a glorious house-sitting session.

You want to start with something that has oodles of atmosphere, intriguing story, and enough combat bits to keep you on your toes: Stonekeep, Lionheart or Lost Eden are all good warm-up choices. Now take the action up a notch with Earthworm Jim's wacky platforming, MDK's chaotic antics, Shogo's intense gunplay, or Freespace 2's magnificent explosions. Time to top if off with class: Treat yourself to the diverse and ridiculously entertaining Sacrifice and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, two unique gaming experiences that are enough to make this staycation totally worth it!

These are just some of the neat Interplay treasures on offer, though. There's also Toonstruck, Prehistorik 1+2, Redneck Rampage, plenty of Star Trek and more to choose from!

The special Interplay Staycation Sale will last until July 31, 3 PM UTC.

The price change on the Interplay catalog will be applied after the sale is concluded.

BStone: Interplay was awesome back in the day. (remembering the big emerald-slab/laser intro)

No Descent? :(
Descent was removed from the store two years ago, thanks to a financial dispute between Interplay and Parallax (the game's developers).

I would recommend this game. It's often compared to the Bard's Tale series, but it's actually quite different, with a non-linear world, a focus on exploration rather than getting stronger by fighting monsters, plenty of non-combat skills, and a classless skill-based system. It's also interesting that many puzzles have multiple solutions; in particular, getting out of Purgatory (where you start) can be done by several different methods (one of which is New Game + exclusive).

It's a really underrated game.
I've missed every opportunity to get the Interplay catalog for 90% off, and this year, during which I was very active, there was no sale. I'm kind of pissed at what's happening, but there's nothing I can do about it, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the future is going to bring.

high rated
whoever owns interplay now:

wow, this is awful. these games are /several/ years old at this point. raising the base price is just going to mean that you're going to sell less. whatever your bean counters have told you about "raising the price" is pretty much wrong, because you're nudging these games even further from impulse buys than they were before.

i do get that you want to probably put these on sale more often as a result, but that's probably going to have a weird side-effect where people don't see your games as "worthy" anymore and will ONLY wait for sales before they take the plunge.

this is the OPPOSITE of good strategy. you WANT your old games to retain "impulse buy" status because MOST of the people coming through have already bought them at one stage or another, they're just buying them here to have them for the sake of posterity.

oh well. your loss. you're building up a whole head of terrible karma and basic indifference from the people who are willing to champion you. [retro gamers.]

Only several? I still have the HoMM definition of few and several in mind whenever I see the terms, so several would mean 5-9, so no earlier than 2008, but the "newest" Interplay game is Lionheart, released in 2003, and that's the only one released after 2000.
Based on age alone, I'd say Lionheart is the only one left with any excuse, and that just until next year, for a $10 full price. And for those released before '97, so over 20 years old, I'm even looking oddly at $6 if they're not bundled frankly.

PS: That's odd, just a moment ago opened the promo page and some games didn't have base prices listed. They showed up again now.

Based on comments here, I just got Ignition. I also picked up Lost Eden from my wishlist, and finally decided to get those MDKs since this looks like the end of the road for me and Interplay.

Strangely Armikrog has a strange base price of $5.76
Can someone enlighten me as to why this piece of software has a regional discount for India. I didn't know There was any regional pricing for India on GOG.

Also a little confused about whether I should pick up the 2 MDK games or not. They seem to be nice, but I am not sure about supporting Interplay with a purchase after this odd decision.

Note that you have spells in the game, there is no "natural" means of mana regeneration in the game, there is only a limited supply of some lootable dragon stones. Magic is still essential (and very powerful) in the game.

In addition, if a character dies, you do not have the luxury of simple ressurection, you have to travel to the underworld to revive the dead character.

You also should draw your own map and read the manual (the second half consists of good old journal entries, illustrating the current situation).

There are a few pools, all located near the start of the game, where you can recharge your magic for free. This becomes especially nice once you get the Charger spell.

Dragon stones can be bought, and the game gives you far more dragon stones as loot than you can realistically carry. It is therefore safe to treat dragon stones as not being finite. Furthermore, there actually is a treasure that can be looted more than once that contains dragon stones (I suspect this is a bug). In particular, dragon stones are more plentiful than ammunition for ranged weapons, and ranged weapons aren't that good in this game (there is one exception).

Resurrection, while not convenient, doesn't have any long-term penalties (unlike in some early WRPGs like Wizardry and Might & Magic). However, in addition to finding the correct spot, one of the survivors needs to have a certain skill to actually perform the resurrection.

There is an auto-map in the game. You can also set macros (I like to set one for quick use of the Bandage skill), though they unfortunately do not persist after save and reload.

The later part of the manual, with the numbered paragraphs, is only meant to be read when the game instructs you to (this was a form of copy protection). I believe some of the paragraphs are actually fake and aren't used in the game.

There were a few games with a whole bunch of Asian discounts for a while, all different, ended up with as many as 30 different prices (the new MOO, or one edition of it at least). But then they were removed, but for this one they either remained or were added with the price drop, not sure. Normal base price is $9.99 for it. Has 27 different prices, ranging from $2.29 (Ukraine) to $11.56 (Poland).

Grargar: It's €19.99 for all 3 games; you can't (unfortunately) buy them separately on Steam.

Nalkoden: Oh. My mistake. Still too much.
EWJ 3D isn't worth even €1.
Which one is better ?

Prehistorik 1+2 or The Humans Bundle ?
