Ever had a really really cool staycation? You know, one where you get some time off just so that you can lock yourself in and chill by your favorite screen, armed with mountains of unwholesome snacks, several gallons of energizing beverages and the all-powerful A/C remote by your side? Well the Interplay Staycation is shaping up to be a pretty epic one!
These golden classics will soon have their prices increased so don't dally: grab them now for 60% off and prepare for a glorious house-sitting session.

You want to start with something that has oodles of atmosphere, intriguing story, and enough combat bits to keep you on your toes: Stonekeep, Lionheart or Lost Eden are all good warm-up choices. Now take the action up a notch with Earthworm Jim's wacky platforming, MDK's chaotic antics, Shogo's intense gunplay, or Freespace 2's magnificent explosions. Time to top if off with class: Treat yourself to the diverse and ridiculously entertaining Sacrifice and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, two unique gaming experiences that are enough to make this staycation totally worth it!

These are just some of the neat Interplay treasures on offer, though. There's also Toonstruck, Prehistorik 1+2, Redneck Rampage, plenty of Star Trek and more to choose from!

The special Interplay Staycation Sale will last until July 31, 3 PM UTC.

The price change on the Interplay catalog will be applied after the sale is concluded.

phaolo: Mm.. I only miss these average titles which I've always skipped.
Do you think that some of these are actually great and I should really buy them?

Star Trek™: Starfleet Academy (maybe the 2nd is better)
Star Trek™: Starfleet Command Gold Edition
Dragon Wars
Battle Chess Special Edition
Kingdom: The Far Reaches
Redneck Rampage Collection
MDK 2
Conquest of the New World
Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business
Die By The Sword + Limb From Limb
Screamer
Ignition
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Lost Eden
Messiah
F/A-18E Super Hornet
Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader
Cyberia
Cyberia 2: Resurrection
Shattered Steel
Of Light and Darkness: The Prophecy
Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
VR Soccer '96
Earthworm Jim 3D
Titus The Fox: To Marrakech and Back
Pray for Death
Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus
Evolva
Out of that list I find Messiah somewhat interesting. The gameplay does not live up to the potential of the concept but was enjoyable enough. It also was one of those games I missed but was always curious about. I also like the graphics style.

Otherwise, just a reminder, price increase is not the end of sales and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if the next sale after the increase still will be up to 80% or so...
Interplay doubling their prices? Again? Well then, looks like a few titles I had a mild interest in won't ever make it onto my game shelf.

PaterAlf: [...] Lost Eden and Of Light and Darkness.
The only ones of those I don't have that I've got wishlisted. Will have to see if I can/should pick them up during this sale.
Great, more 17 year old $10 titles going for $2.50 every other week (I'm looking at you Deus Ex). I've said it before and I'll say it again, NO decade old game should still sell for $10 ANYWHERE. Digital distribution (and Interplay) has become a fucking joke.
Higher prices... in old games? What the hell, Interplay????

Agreed. These sales tactics are ridiculous, but sadly they seem to be successful. Personally I'd rather see honest and reasonable base prices, instead of bloated base prices for games which are going to be 80% off every few months. You can't even buy any of these games outside of sales any more, unless you want to "throw away" your money. The current pricing schemes mean you can't just pick up a game whenever you feel like it, so you have to wait until you can play it, and the publishers have to wait for your money, until the next sale comes around. It seems like a loss for both sides. And all because the average customer gets a boner whenever they see a high discount percentage next to a price tag. *face palm*

If you like the general gameplay of Blood 2, I can wholeheartedly recommend Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, which is very similar thanks to using the same engine, but also a lot more varied and interesting than Caleb's second game. If you can get past the hideous character models and sometimes unfair difficulty (although I still find it easier than Blood 2), you'll find an incredibly fun and engaging shooter. Especially the levels where you stomp around in a giant Mech and blow up everything in your way are amazing.

Also, Ignition is a really damn good racer in the vein of Micro Machines or something similar.
So not only are they increasing the prices on their stuff, they don't even have regional pricing on a large chunk of of their games? Jeez, now I REGRET supporting whoever the hell owns the brand name now.

You think $5 more is bad, itch has a game whose regular price is $5,000 that has doubled to $10,000 thanks to a reverse sale!

They do have discounts, for Russia, Ukraine, CIS states and Brazil.
Oh, they don't have them for your country, which is also poor? Well then, see how fair it seems from the point of view of others then. And should be from the point of view of anyone.
But imagine that the increases may bring full regional pricing now, so there may be a blanket Latin America discount, and probably also a blanket European surcharge, as tends to be the norm racently, including non-Euro and even non-EU countries in that region. Because we're all rich here, ya know?
But hey, what if you'd be somewhere in Africa? Think people are richer there? But they don't get discounts. Neither do those in India (bar one game). And poorer people everywhere, regardless of their country's average.

Gah, somebody asking for regional pricing.
*laser eyes*
Thanks to all for the suggestions.

... I sincerely hope whatever point you were trying to make was lost on translation, because your post makes no sense.

I doubt we'll get any lowered regional pricing for these games. I wouldn't be surprised if they raised the price by quite a lot on the areas where they have regional pricing just to match things up.

Grargar: Interplay does it again. That is, Steam price-matching.
Let's hope the same doesn't happen with Activision titles, eh?

Only makes no sense if you refuse to see it.

phaolo: Star Trek™: Starfleet Academy
Are you a fan of the original Star Trek? Get it. William Shatner puts on his best "I can't believe I still have to wear this stupid uniform" face. Worth it for the unintentional cringe alone.

The starship simulator bits I find overly complicated and not much fun at all. I enjoyed the SNES version a great deal more. Then again, the SNES version didn't have the soap opera FMV bits where you get to interact with your crew.

phaolo: Kingdom: The Far Reaches
Truly bottom of the barrel-stuff and one of the genuinely worst things I've ever played on gog. Avoid!

phaolo: Redneck Rampage Collection
Duke clone with hillbilly protagonists. I found the idea more enjoyable than the actual execution. Get Duke 3D or Shadow Warrior instead.

phaolo: Die By The Sword + Limb From Limb
I enjoyed this a great deal as a kid, mainly due to the fact that you can hack your opponents to bits. Had a hard time getting into it when I got it here, since the thing is nigh impossible to control on a keyboard. The music and atmosphere is pretty good. It gets a cautious thumbs up from me.

phaolo: Kingpin: Life of Crime
Awesome FPS that was unfairly met with complete indifference (save for some controversy over violence and near-constant swearing), due to Unreal and Half-Life having been released earlier. Honestly, I had more fun with Kingpin whan with either Half-Life or Unreal. Enemy AI, especially the pathfinding, is impressive to this day. The graphics have aged remarkably well. Naturally, the textures aren't up to scratch and quite blurry, but an amazing attention to detail went into designing the environments. This is one of my all-time-favourites from the gog catalogue. Get it!

phaolo: Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
Another old favourite of mine that no one paid attention to because it launched the same month as Half-Life. Nice atmosphere, excellent soundtrack, big explosions - great fun! Recommended!
Interplay was awesome back in the day. (remembering the big emerald-slab/laser intro)

No Descent? :(
