Ever had a really really cool staycation? You know, one where you get some time off just so that you can lock yourself in and chill by your favorite screen, armed with mountains of unwholesome snacks, several gallons of energizing beverages and the all-powerful A/C remote by your side? Well the Interplay Staycation is shaping up to be a pretty epic one!
These golden classics will soon have their prices increased so don't dally: grab them now for 60% off and prepare for a glorious house-sitting session.

You want to start with something that has oodles of atmosphere, intriguing story, and enough combat bits to keep you on your toes: Stonekeep, Lionheart or Lost Eden are all good warm-up choices. Now take the action up a notch with Earthworm Jim's wacky platforming, MDK's chaotic antics, Shogo's intense gunplay, or Freespace 2's magnificent explosions. Time to top if off with class: Treat yourself to the diverse and ridiculously entertaining Sacrifice and Giants: Citizen Kabuto, two unique gaming experiences that are enough to make this staycation totally worth it!

These are just some of the neat Interplay treasures on offer, though. There's also Toonstruck, Prehistorik 1+2, Redneck Rampage, plenty of Star Trek and more to choose from!

The special Interplay Staycation Sale will last until July 31, 3 PM UTC.

The price change on the Interplay catalog will be applied after the sale is concluded.

DoomSooth: People living in economically poorer areas have bigger problems and priorities than worrying about buying games.

immi101: uh, "economically poor" does not mean that they are fighting for survival 24/7. :)
They (usually) still have time/money for recreational activities.
It's just that the budget numbers are on a smaller scale than what you are probably used to.
And while the local economy is always sort of adjusted to the economical constraints of the local population, the digital market with globally set prices is not.
The idea of "game X is worth their price Y" just doesn't work globally.
This. ^
If someone is poor or broke, they shouldn't expect prices to change just because they feel like they deserve lower prices. Their budget is their problem. If you're poor or broke but doing the best you can then I feel for you. I've been there. You Just have to keep going until things improve. Do what you can with what you have. Nobody is owed anything, though.
'Poor" or "Broke" is an idea related to a local economy. One country's "poor" is another country's "rich" or another country's "middle class". But I guess these facts are too hard to understand.
The world is a diverse place, and if one thinks based on the experience of their surroundings only, it may not be possible to understand the broader world.

I think I am done with explaining here.
If you see something you want but don't have enough money for it then that's too bad. Wait until you do. That applies everywhere in the world. How is that difficult to understand?

Neoliberal unfettered capitalist mindset vs. common sense, logic, empathy, anything reasonable...
*shrug* It's not my fault if you're unwilling or unable to save your money for what you want. Facts don't care about your feelings.

Agreed. Most of these games were made in a first world country with a first world budget. Don't be surprised if they asked for a first world price. None of those facts should decrease your empathy towards those outside the first world, but they should help you to realize that needs (games are not a need) are of greater predominance outside the first world. Whether that compels one in the the first world to charity (perhaps rather than spending time and money on games) is their own luxury to decide, whereas those outside should (perhaps more) seriously consider the importance of luxuries at all.

No one has the luxury to impose that games, made with someone else's budget, be made free.

2.39 USD - for some games ok, for some bit too much. Dragon Wars for example. Not saying if you did something with it. But you are just using dosbox here!! I have bought Lands of Lore for bit more than 1 USD here. The best dungeon ever. Stonekeep doesn't get even close. Otherwise I have to say that interplay has indeed published bunch of good games. More than I have expected.
So which ones are getting a price raise and how much? I'd like to know.
We'll have to wait and see. It could be all of them or just the ones that are available through Steam. I haven't looked there, so I don't know which ones they have.
Purchased Lost Eden. and Titus.

Grargar: Kingdom: The Far Reaches
One of the worst, if not the worst adventure game I've ever played for 10 bucks xD. User ratings here aren't too benevolent either. Most hilarious pricing ever.

No regional price hikes at least. (Wonder if they just missed Shogo or it's intentionally left as the only $5.99 Interplay title.)
But damn, again, increasing prices for such old games.
These steep price increases are unseemly, to say it politely. IMHO.
