Limited at that price (for now)

Not really. It's not saying that there is a physically limited supply and nothing can be done about it, but rather that they are willing to provide a limited number of games at a specially low price in order to promote the website. It is no different than any kind of sale really. You might have 100 crates of oranges in your warehouse which normally sell for say $15 per crate, and you decide that you're going to promote your store and try to draw customers into the store by giving them a deal. So you create a promotion to sell 25 crates of oranges at 80% off ($3) first come first serve. You could sell all 100 crates at that price if you wanted to but you don't want to, you are providing a limited number of them very much on purpose at a very low price to draw people to your store. Whether they are physical items you are selling and have only so many of them in your warehouse like my example, and you're choosing to sell some or all of them at that reduced price, or whether they are virtual items that you technically have an unlimited supply of in your store and are choosing to provide a limited supply at a fixed price doesn't matter. The "limit" is not the limit of availability for the store to get a hold of, but a limit the store is setting on how many they're willing to sell to the customer at the reduced price regardless of the supply they may have on hand or can get a hold of.

Think of it as "we are willing to sell n products at $xyz price during this promotion, act quick if you want to score this amazing deal" rather than thinking of it as "We are selling n products at $xyz until our supply runs out and there are no more." and it makes a lot more sense.

Since the games are digital and there is no end of supply of them, one could argue since there is no limit that the sale should never end. The sale doesn't end because of lack of supply however, but because the decided number of items they are willing to offer to the customerbase at the reduced price has been sold. ;o)

Nothing silly about that, it's standard fare marketing and business promotion. ;o)

What you are describing is "limited availability" (at a given price) not limited stock (since the stock is digital and unlimited). This what I think should be stated; availability, not stock.

Still, the two of them together will never match this thread. It was pure awesomeness and it will always be the standard by which all other Insomnia threads are judged.
