Not only is the dub brought to you the same people who gave us frothy mugs of water, jelly doughnuts that are very clearly rice balls, digital bikinis and deadly hammer guns and other such travesties that would make Carl Macek proud; but even pushing those aside, the overall quality of Sonic X wasn't that good. (MAL places it at 6.5)
First, there's the token human character. who could be digitally edited out of the episodes and the show would gain a whole point of quality. He's got no powers, no abilities, and is generally the equivalent of a loadstone (moreso than Antone from Sonic SatAM.) in a universe with super fast running animals, a maniacal science man and magic emeralds.
Then there's Amy. As Roll is to Megaman as Bass is to Shadow for this metaphor, Amy is not. Amy is typically in the role of "squeaky voiced girl that yells at things" and then is promptly captured. I could keep going, but I honestly can't be bothered to keep grilling it, I've got better shows to remember like Superbook.
