Pre ordered Cyberpunk 2077 through them for Christmas last year. Apparently, mine won't be delivered until 10 DEC 2020. Meaning I won't be able to preload since physical copies have GOG keys and I can't redeem it until I receive the package. So... I preordered and have to wait 2 days or so after most everyone else to be able to play it.

I guess it's my wife's fault for going through Best Buy to surprise me, I guess. Anyone got a solution or do I just need to avoid the internet next week?
My condolences. Fill in a complaint with them, maybe that will give you compensation at least? Pre-ordered games should normally be sent before the date, so that you receive it on time, if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: She couldn't have known btw, blame the shop! ;)

Nah, just give her a good beating that'll teach her.
Just need to distract you until the package arrives....

Two days is nothing. Who cares?

Best solution is to stop fretting over "first world problems" like this.

Mmmm. i had to wait like 8 months or Skyrim. No it was given to me in person in a case with a DVD... my computer couldn't handle it, so i ended up making my first gaming rig back in 2014.

Seriously... 2 days really is nothing. Besides, how did you live your live before you got Cyberpunk 2077? Must have been an incredibly boring and uninteresting thing where 2 days will ruin it for you.... For thousands of years we must have toiled and made mudball huts and used abacuses until magically Cyberpunk 2077 came out and instantly houses and computers just rained down from god like mana from heaven, and our caveman days were over...

Its not like he's making a big deal about it. Just wants to know if there is a solution so he won't be spoiled in the time he has to wait

Don't make your wife feel bad about it. Be patient, stay away from forums and reviews related to the game.
That's a heck of a way for you to make your wife feel bad. Don't do that, not for the sake of a couple of says. Go play something else, watch some movies or read a book to fill the time. It's no big deal or it shouldn't be.

No need to avoid the internet. Just don't go anywhere on it that is likely to contain spoilers. It's not like you turn your computer on and you get flooded with them.

Oh, I'm not upset with her at all. She's the wonderful woman who gave me two beautiful kids, and got me the game for Christmas last year. This year, she approved my plans to get a new PC which is quite kickass. There is no animosity in my heart for her.

Your wife sounds nice....hope you enjoy your PC and the game(when it gets there). :)

One thing though: You need to get some purchases(like a new pc) approved by the wife first? Or did I read that wrong?
(Btw I hope this didn't come off the wrong way...I just have a hard time wrapping my head around that bit you said)

I totally believe that, but she might feel guilty if you decide to return the game. Unless you are sneaky about it and return the game without her knowing about it.

Nothing so serious as that. I'm not upset much at all, the post was mostly tongue-in-cheek. I mean, it feels wrong to preorder over a year ago and get it after the preload period, but at the same time I got my physical goodies comingbbto me. And she had some choice words for Best Buy herself. It's only 2 days, and I'm obviously not going to completely avoid the internet, just YouTube and a few other commonly visited sites until I get it.

I will be waiting till at least mid 2021 at best to play Cyberpunk so I hope you enjoy it.
