Now you can see how the royal saga began. Shovel Knight: King of Cards tells us the prequel story of King Knight, as he travels through his realms in search of an adventure. Apart from new platform challenges, the game introduces a card game called Joustus. It enables the player to engage in multiple card battles and collect his own deck as the game progresses.

King of Cards is a standalone adventure that is also included in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. Its owners will receive King of Cards as a FREE update to their game.
Not a word about Showdown?
Wow amazing gift, I immediately proceed to install and be frustrated and die over and over again!
Many thanks to Yacht Club! Purchasing SK at release day...hour...minute maybe, it's been one of the most rewarding digital purchases I've made.

On Steam, Treasure Trove is 23€ while here it costs 40€. For that price, I hope it includes the soundtrack (since the bundle Treasure Trove + Soundtrack costs 32€ on Steam), but nope, no soundtrack included.
Even worse, regional price for Russia is now gone, and it's now 2999R, while on Steam it's 449R.
Same for Factorio, with 1919R>500R.

I also find it odd that they didn't mention it. I mean Yacht Club Games hasn't mentioned one without the other since they announced them. And from the looks of it both are included in the update here on GOG. So why the writer of this news post only mentioned one but not the other is beyond my comprehension.

Wow it has become quite expensive here outside of the sales. No, there's no soundtrack, only wallpapers and avatars.

Yacht Club announced that the price would increase as soon as King of Cards was released. Looks like they ran into a problem bumping the price on Steam. If you want it on Steam, get it now before the price hike.
I launched TT and it says Showdown is available. I don't know where to start from :)

I'm disappointed that Showdown has only a LOCAL multiplayer, so I don't think I will be playing at it at all until maybe one day it gets online. Also, I found the menus too clumsy for the genre.
My flatmate basically only plays Skyrim and won't play anything where you can count pixels, and fighting against the CPU is not that fun for that kind of game IMHO.

Ferri ate btis!
I still wish they would have made a campaign for Shield Knight.
Even though the turtle mount can't be used (unless i missed something), i like playing as the Black Knight, in Showdown! Whee!
Which version has King of Cards? When I updated Shovel Knight it says it's version 4.0a, but the title card still says Treasure Trove. Is the King of Cards mode located in the options menu?

Update:
I figured it out. You can't use an existing profile to play King of Cards. A new one has to be created.
