Congratulations on your retirement!!! I hope I can retire soon as well! Altough I should probably finish my undergraduate degree first... ;P I heard there are a lot of cool places in the west of Canada (Alberta and B.C.) but I have never been. If I was retired, thoses would be the first places I'd visit (and Yukon, but that's just because I'm curious about what it looks like up there :P).

I was just curious to know what you;ve done for 32 years straight. I think I would have gone nuts by then. I know some of the supermarkets I worked in, we had meat cutters who had been doing that for 30-40 years. And still had all their fingers. :)

The gardens in Ottawa the week in early autumn the leaves turn.
Then down toward the Great Lakes.
Through Allegheny and Susquhannock forests, on toward Lebanon, PA.
Double back to Gettysburg.
The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina, later that autumn.
I-95 to A1A/US1 down to Miami and on to the Keys.
Back up I-75 to I-10 and out the panhandle into Lousiana. New Orleans. To Baton Rouge.
Straight through Texas into Mexico. Monterrey, if you feel like it. Follow the coast to the Yucatan.
Mayan ruins at Tulum; Playa del Carmen. Take a ferry to Cozumel and scuba dive.
Back via the Calakmul biosphere (unless you wanted to dip into Belize). Back to the US via Chiapas and Oaxaca.
Through Tuscon and Phoenix toward the Grand Canyon park and monument.
It's winter now. Vegas. Joshua Tree to LA, or Death Valley to Yosemite and SF. Take the 5 north.
Plumas, Mendocino, Six Rivers, whatever catches your fancy. Up to Seattle.
Olympic, Wenatchee. Homeward bound? Or more?
East again. Through Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, or further south, a tour if Idaho. Either way, on to Yellowstone.
Bighorn. 90 to South Dakota and reservation land. To Sioux Falls and on to Minneapolis.
Find your way home from there.

Where in CA are you starting from?

The film One Week (starring Canadian icon Josh Jackson) features him riding across CA on a motorcycle. Camping in the Canadian Rockies is amazing, though if you're traveling in an RV there are a few roads you don't want to go up. Canoeing in Algonquin Park, Ontario, or the Boundary Waters (MN).

Vancouver up to Whistler and Vancouver Island, BC. Butchart Gardens, tea time in Victoria, camping by the beach at Tofino.

In the east, Mtrl and QC are both neat cities, and the Reserve Cap-Tourmente and the hills northeast of QC or out to Gaspe.

Guess it depends on what you like and how far you want to go. Even just in Canada there's a lot to see/do.
