Fight, survive and live to tell the tales.

Wartales, an open world, turn-based strategy RPG, is now available on GOG with a -20% launch discount which lasts until May 2nd, 1 PM UTC.

Get ready to embrace the life of a mercenary on a dangerous quest for riches and recognition in a medieval world ravaged by destitution and greed. Explore the world, recruit companions, collect bounties and unravel the secrets of the tombs of the ancients.

A century has passed since the fall of the Edoran Empire at the hands of an unprecedented plague that swept the nation. Now, the land is rife with mercenary work, banditry and thievery, with honor having become an almost entirely forgotten virtue. Prepare to lead a group of unscrupulous characters in a massive open world where combat, death and a thirst for riches will dictate your day to day life. You are not the hero of this story, destined to usher in a new era of peace. Your goal is solely to survive and thrive in this harsh and hostile world, by any means necessary

Wartales is a game full of possibilities. It’s a delightful RPG experience with fascinating and addictive gameplay that impresses the players on every step.

You’ll find yourself spending hundreds of hours on engaging and fun activities, from customizing your group's skills, equipment, and appearance (all with an intuitive RPG progression and crafting system), developing your camp with luxuries, tools, and equipment to help your team endure and recover from the hardships each day brings, through exploring a vibrant and mysterious world, immersing yourself in lively villages and remnants of a bygone era, all the way to collecting bounties and taking on contracts, overcoming your foes with a tactical turn-based combat system that rewards careful planning and strategic thinking, and so much more.

And if you prefer to go on journeys with friends, the Wartales’ 4 player co-op is coming soon to GOG. You’ll be able to share money, loot, resources, and end the day with a delicious meal around a roaring campfire with your loyal companions, building camaraderie and forging unbreakable bonds that will help you overcome any obstacle.

If you are hungry for an incredible RPG adventure, Wartales will satisfy you completely. Go on, time to begin your journey as a mercenary.

Great release.
Just to understand this one.
Battle Brothers with modern (and better) graphics?
Wow, this actually looks great! Personally I have been a bit bored with the recent releases here (as in games released on GOG in 2023). This is definitely a welcome title!

:P Is that soon or Soon(tm)? I respect that these things take time (and I encourage taking the time needed to make sure stuff works right, like - presumably - Dawn of War), but I'm reminded of people being told similar features would come to games that never did (Nuclear Throne and probably other indies; Empires: Dawn of the Modern World had in the release thread "NOTE: The game does not currently support multiplayer but we are working on resolving the issue." but multiplayer never showed up)

Mortismal Gaming review

Worth A Buy review
Regarding (minimum) system requirements: sadly, not playable on a reasonably modern laptop(discrete AMD Radeon 550X (2 GB GDDR5)) over Wine: I get 3-4 FPS that obviously makes the game unplayable.

Children of Morta's co-op has been coming soon for over a year..
Pirates of Belerion

"Pirates of Belerion releases on December 14th!
Embark on over +25 hours of new adventures and explore Belerion, a new hostile region far larger than any other part of the continent. Discover a land unlike anything you’ve seen with the first expansion to the world of Wartales! Unravel the secrets of the region's storyline, discover new factions and master the new way to travel: navigation."
On steam, the RELEASE of WARTALES THE TAVERN OPENS is listed with 18th of April. Hopefully this is also the release day here ... and moreover I keep my fingers crossed, that the base game will also get a discount (e.g. 25% like on steam at the moment).
