This thread has appeared in the General forum, and supposedly has one post in it, but the post is invisible. Can I post here? Let's find out...

Edit: the answer seems to be yes, but I still can't see the actual news post. This seems to be the release: https://www.gog.com/en/game/tibor_tale_of_a_kind_vampire

Yeah, that's nothing new here on the forum.
After a period of being 404'd, we're now back, but the phantom OP has disappeared even from the post count. Here's the news item: https://www.gog.com/en/news/release_tibor_tale_of_a_kind_vampire
Its release date is in the future. Not shown as a pre-order either. Peculiar. Better than the re-releases of classics getting a modern release date instead of the original release date.
high rated
Developer here, this one was actually released in 2009, the date on the page is wrong, I'll see about getting that corrected.

This one is one of my personal favorites, it ended up being quite popular in it's day, especially in Croatia where it was distributed with the local newspaper, printed in 100.000 copies :)

I'm so happy we've been able to remaster this game and re-release it!
Judging from the trailer, I fail to see how this could be considered to be "VIOLENCE-FREE".

I would say it depends on your definition of violence. Sure there is jumping on rats, but that's the Super Mario kind of violence. Very tame compared to the "normal" level in video games.
Reminds me a lot of Supercow I played back in the day. Beautiful 2D level art/backgrounds, with much simpler low poly 3D characters on top and gameplay seemingly consisting of very basic platforming with LOTS of shiny collectables peppered in your way, not being able to take two steps without picking tons of them. Supercow also had the least menacing enemies I can imagine, rats and small animals which I almost feel bad for jumping on them.

aaah supercow, I gotta replay that! Good comparison!
My initial role model for this game was Prehistorik, but you know, not nearly as difficult :)

My first thought when I saw the screenshots was that it reminds me of those budget platformers added to Polish magazines in early-mid 00's. Quite surprised it's actually from 2009. Looks pretty oldschool, though some backgrounds are neat, but then Trine was released the same year...
Speaking of Vampires and True Love: humbly suggesting the Swedish(bec. US remake not that good) movie
Let the Right One In (2008).
If you get triggered by any of the keywords starting with capital letter of above sentence.

To be fair, Trine is a piece of art, it's hard to live up to that standard :)

This game was one of our early ones, we really did our best on it, poured a lot of creativity in level design.
Keep in mind that the primary target audience for this game is kids, so the game is designed to be easy to play, but hard to master if you want to get all the achievements and complete 100% of the level.

Back in the day, a lot of adults used to play this game with their children and then they themselves got hooked on the game :) I know because a lot of them wrote us about their experiences via email.
