People, please, don't say absurdities. This has nothing to do with DRM, no matter how you look at it.

Still, microtransactions have arrived to GOG, and this is very, very sad. It's actually what I believe to be the worst industry sin after DRM.
I don't recognize this place anymore. Enjoy your new AAA popularity, but I don't trust you a I did before. You were an example for everyone, now you are just a store.

fortune_p_dawg: this is very drm. it's fine when it's free but this is not for me.

Yeshu: How is it DRM?
avatar
vanchann: @GOG: Excuse me, but this is the definition of DRM.
avatar
Yeshu: How exacly is this DRM? GWENT is a multiplayer only game like an MMO or many other F2P games, where you need to log in to the game to play it.
Can you play the game without logging onto a third party sever, no, then that is DRM. In fact is the holy grail of all drm zealots, a world where you have nothing, just an access to a sever they control. Hence streaming, office online etc. If you don't have control you have nothing.

A limited, one-time only offer for digital goods, tied to the use on a proprietary server, sold in a DRM free "You buy it - it's yours" shop... \o/

blotunga: I don't have time for it. To much grinding.
That's why you are allowed to pay for the win! :P

Guys, this game is F2P and you can get a big amount of cards without paying a cent, but development needs to be paid too, so in my opinion if you like the game, theres no problem in supporting it.

Meh GOG... very MEH!
Likely cyberpunk will bring in micro transactions, it almost came here with the two worlds new pack.
gwent has had the option to buy cards for real money for a good while yet people only complain about it now? [thinking emoji]

Cost does not change how bad this scenario is. Shouldn't be on a drm free store.

Did you missed the note that the game is F2P online and that basicaly means microtransactions to provide the developers income? You can still get cards by playing the game and so far it doesn't feel purposly grindy or forcing you to buy cards.

Agreed.

Seriously, why did CDP feel they have to release GWENT through GOG?

Why not create a new daughter company that would handle GWENT, and any future MMORPGs or multiplayer only games? And make them Galaxy compatible. Non of this would have been a problem.
