Little maverick.

Samorost2, a simple experimental adventure game from Amanita Design, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 33% launch discount.

Samorost2 is super weird. It's weird all around. The premise is weird - you're a gnome-like creature living on a tiny tree planet. Two mysterious, angry looking aliens land near your house and capture your dog, there's little you can do but lift off in your bottle rocket and get him back. The graphics are weird - the universe is a surreal collage of pastel colored textures and photography. The music is so weird, its award winning. Samorost2 is not a complex experience, it features no inventory or dialogue instead opting for a serene set of scenes to be solved and manipulated. Half game, half art, all greatness.

The GOG.com release of Samorost2 comes with a free copy of the Original Soundtrack bonus goodie, and it's one worth listening to.

A surreal adventure awaits in Samorost2, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 33% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, July 14, at 10:59 AM GMT.
Looks nice and cute. :)
I remember a few years back looking at Amanita's website looking at the games they made and wondering why Samarost 2 wasn't on sale on GOG while Machinarium and the newly released Botanicula was. I'm glad that's it's on here now with the soundtrack as a nice bonus.
-sigh- I literally bought this on Steam just recently at the end of the summer sale. I told myself I need to save money and stop double dipping...

But it's only 3.99...

...fuck.

-clicks add to cart-
a great (and Czech, ehm ehm :) little game...

and don't be afraid, you who claim to suck at adventure games - my mum was able to finish this game, and my colleague from work who only ever played one game in his life, this game :D

EDIT: to be fair, my colleague also played Samorost 1 ;)

JudasIscariot: This is just asking for a whole bunch of people to point at you and click on you forever and ever and ever...

MischiefMaker: That doesn't worry me, they'll never find the correct pixel.

But seriously, gog, space out the genres a little!
We just did :P

We released an RTS 3 hours later :P
I am happy Samorost 2 is on here, I bought it during the Botanicula debut on Humble Bundle, and I love both games, can't wait for the 3rd title.

Very atmospheric, soundtrack is fantastic, visuals are great for a 10 year old point and click, cute characters, and if you play the free web browser 1st one in the series, you meet some of those characters in the sequel here, like the guy who smokes his pipe ;)

Unrelated to your post.

Hope it is O.K that I am asking you this here, why the original price of the game is 1 dollar more in GOG than if you buy it directly from the developers site?

What an adorable and beautifully odd looking little game!

There was an installer version of the freeware Samorost1. Is there any chance GOG could offer it as a bonus? I have a copy of the file I could upload to you guys if needs be.

This is what I'm talkin' about.

Why would I buy "Part 2" for real cash here on GOG, when I would have to go hunt down the FREE "Part 1" on some other website? If it's a free game, and an installer exists, is there any reason whatsoever why it wouldn't come with the game as a bonus?

I don't see myself buying this game without Part 1 available.

you can easily just play the first game here on web and then continue with the installed part 2 :) or do you need to own everything? ;)

Companies have been known to go out of business. Hopefully Amanita Design goes on in perpetuity, but you never know. If the website goes dark, what then? Better to have a copy to play offline just in case. If including a copy of the freeware original will encourage additional sales and put completionists' minds at ease, why not?
