tinyE: No way. I got a new PC, reinstalled D3 (cd rom original version), it automatically updated, and now it is virtually unplayable. They stuck so much crap on there it takes 30 minutes just to play a SP off line game.
Automatically updated? Through what? Steam? The original cd version isn't tied to any DRM or client. I've got the cd version and also reinstalled it a year or two ago. Grabbed the single available patch for the offline cd version. Works just fine.
It's really weird there are no linux/mac versions. Oh, well, I guess I'll get it running the usual way. Kudos for releasing Doom and Quake!
Can't wait for Doom 3 non BFG version.

I don't have Steam, but now when I install it and try to play, it ask for a code for Doom 3 and the Expansion. Of course it tells me the codes are invalid. The only way around it are to disconnect from the internet at which point it might take the codes. Of course I have to do this every time I play.

I don't know if the GOG version is compatible with a source port like those here ?

Wow. That's really crappy. I think I'll just keep my current install and not tempt fate.

MusicallyInspire: Few questions about this pack:

1) I know Quake comes with the cd audio soundtrack but does it come with a) MP3/OGG files, b) FLAC/WAV files, or c) an ISO of the original disc? I'd be very disappointed if the audio tracks were in a lossy compressed format (read- destroyed)

2) Does the DOS version come with Quake? I'm guessing no...

3) I think this was mentioned but I'll ask anyway because I forget, are the Doom releases DOS or 95?
Not sure about #1, but #2 is yes (it includes both versions), and #3 is DOS.

It is :-)
Hail to the King, Baby!

Wait a second. That is completely different. Still nice to have them here. I just bought them all, although I already know them on an other platform. The mod support should be better.

Now I feel deeply ashamed :(
I played Quake 3 a lot back then (while a lot less than Quake)...

My bad !
