UPDATE: The first No Man's Sky update is now out!
It's a much-awaited bundle of fixes, as well as compatibility and performance improvements and you can grab it now via GOG Galaxy auto-updates, or with the newest offline installers.

No Man's Sky a massive science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Note that the game takes place in one persistent PC universe, shared across GOG and Steam.

In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid, those with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as any of us are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — gradually getting catalogued by explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.

The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means to stand your ground in a fight. Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal the greatest mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

Calibrate your suits for extreme insomnia, reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, DRM-free on GOG.com!

svelle1: Nope, can't download the patch. Not in the Galaxy updater nor at the offline installer page.

Edit: Just dropped on the gog.com page. Still not found on the galaxy updater.
Edit2: Ok so apparently the devs didn't choose to add incremental patches to download but to just replace the original installer with a patched one...
Galaxy also takes about 15 min give or take after opening to check for updates as well from what I have been told. I can confirm the patch is available though.
Well ... I just downloaded the patch, but the result is the same: crash to desktop after the Hello Games Splash screen.
I think I can hear a second more of the music before it crashes.
No crashdump available.

It's a shame, despite the bad reviews I think I'd really enjoy the game for what it is (if it would run).

(My specs: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor, 8.00 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti, Windows 7 Professional x64, latest video-drivers installed)

Change updates to manual, revert back to the 1.03, download (via torrent or another means) and copy the 3rd experimental patch, slap some mods onto it (not necessary but it looks and works much better) and you are ready to go.
You have to still use SSE 4.1 emulator. And even with this I got CTD on Initiazilation screen. :(

No, you don't (unless the emulator is part of the downloaded files) - just download the 900MB or so patch and copy the zip contents into the game folder.

I have AMD Phenom II X4 955 16GB RAM and AMD R9 280 Dual-X 3GB.. ..all working smoothly.

How long before I get a reply to my request for a refund. I sent a request 8Hrs ago and only automated replies at the moment with a Ticket No. This latest patch has not fixed anything still crash on Hello Games splash screen.

I am quiet upset. 30 years in I.T. I can troubleshoot issues with great confidence.

If you can give me a idea of the usual turnaround on these requests.

Thankyou

JudasIscariot: If you do not have the game set to manual updates, then it should update on its own via Galaxy. If you want to force the update, run a "Verify & Repair" check on No Man's Sky and it will get updated to the latest available version :)
Let me get this straight: There is no changelog, and no standalone patch? Barring using Galaxy, the only way to get the "patch" is to download the whole damned game again and reinstall it? With no knowledge of what changes have actually been made, and whether they address any of the particular issues I am experiencing with the game?

C'mon GOG, I know you can do better than that.

It depends on how many people are in front of you. We are currently going through tickets as quickly as possible but it still may take some time to get to your ticket. Rest assured, your refund request will be honored.

JudasIscariot: It's initial settings are set to 30 FPS. You can change it to 60 FPS within the game's Options menu.
I was referring to the PS4 version. ;)
I uninstalled whole game, then download it once again from GOG Galaxy (i don't see any other possibility, on GOG portal I don't see any additional files). After installation and launch i have CTD on Hello Games logo screen. What I did wrong? :(

The new patch for "We Happy Few" was a whole redownload of the 4G game for me. Though that's In Dev. A released title should have better support.

But we all knew Galaxy would gradually become less optional.
So... how many of you who have the game are actually enjoying it?

I can't because it doesn't work!

I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit. There are plenty of things I would like to see improved, but I think that will come in time. At the moment I'm mostly annoyed by the poor levels of support and communication displayed by GOG.

When we get a changelog, we will post one. We do not have any changelogs as I write this.
