A game set in Munich/Germany...that alone warrants my interest already.

On it's own it wouldn't quite convince me, but there's a demo, so that's neat. Will give it a shot.

That link does not explain what I said at all. I never asked for ADDITIONAL German I only asked for German with English subs INSTEAD of English with German subs. Same costs. I am well aware that small indies usually can't afford the luxury of doing multiple dubs. If they think it is the right decision to scrap German language from a game that takes place in Germany I think it is the right decision to not support them.

Would be more believable if the place was Berlin. ;)

As someone with no particular interest in Germany or the German language I agree. Particularly considering the almost complete lack of authenticity in most games.

I do have an interest in language in general. I'd love it if games were not only written in the preferred language of the authors but that there was a literal translation mode with notes and the text in the primary language as well to aid anyone interested in learning that language. I can see small indie developers deciding that wouldn't be something they can do, although it would make the game more distinctive and maybe provide a wider audience than most games. But at least having the audio match the developer's preferred language is nice and seems like the kind of thing that would help make a decent game into a memorable experience.

I guess I also read subtitles even in English which not everyone does and "noir" style games go for a thick nostalgia feeling and they might fear that needing to read text would break the mood for some people. But not understanding the words can even be a benefit, particularly with a nice voice but meh story.

I was thinking similar about The Longest Road on Earth that has lyrics in English and is set in the US but the developers are from Spain and are mostly speaking Spanish in the "making of" video (in that case there is no actual text in the "game", which is more a full album music video made in a game engine). I wish more developers would focus on local flavor.

I guess they might think of it as an "artistic creation that benefits humanity vs commercial success" decision, but with so many generic games these days I wonder if there is even a commercial success benefit to the sell out route.

I usually don't like "noir" games but I like the art style of this one and will give the demo a try. A lot of what I don't like about them is the typical noir guy is quite an asshole in my opinion.

I tried the demo a long time ago, to be honest, I did not like it...
In case someone tries the full version, please tell us how it compares to the demo!

Noticed there were some talks elsewhere regarding prologue that people found "necessary" to play before main game. Is demo in GOG basically that prologue, is it included in main game purchase or am I completely missing something here?
