“A trap is only a trap if you don't know about it. If you know about it, it's a challenge.”

Deathtrap, an intense, atmospheric tower defense/ action-rpg, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer, and a 50% launch discount.

If there's one thing tower defense and aRPGs have in common, it's the satisfaction of having just mowed down a horde of stupid, cannon fodder bad guys and going through the loot they left behind. Forget epic quests and world-spanning adventures - here, the fight comes to you.
Deathtrap takes the surprisingly entertaining tower defense minigame you might know from The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing games, and cranks the chaotic fun up to eleven. Massive maps, inventive combos, and an endless number of oddly-shaped enemies get trapped in the same room with diverse player classes, loot, crafting, and a focus on gear. What comes out is a truly sophisticated tower defense title coated in a gothic-noir glaze and matching soundtrack that set the perfect mood for slaughtering horrible abominations.

Action RPG? Check. Tower Defense? Check. Awesome? Check out Deathtrap, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last for the duration of the Summer Sale.

Please note: This DRM-Free version does not contain the Level Editor, Workshop and Custom Map support. The price has been adjusted to reflect that.
Could be amusing. I should play Van Helsing and see if I like the dynamic there.
This does sound interesting, though I have not played a strictly tower defense game before. Looking around online, the game does seem to have good reviews. Has anyone played this? If so, how did you like it compared to RPGs? (Witcher, D&D games, etc.)
Tower defenses are not my fav... I'll just grab the Myst bundle instead...

Not strictly tower defence.
If similar to Van Helsing you're just running around and attacking stuff ARPG style by yourself/with friends while the towers support you.

GOG.com: snip.....
No trailer?
I'm not really into tower defense, but I surprisingly enjoyed the tower defense minigame in Van Helsing a LOT, so I'll definetly keep my eye on this one :)
Does this have similarly stupid online / offline separation as Van Helsing has? (meaning does it require neocore account for online, and if so, does it come with mandatory cloud saves and no way to import/export offline char?)
This game has one of the biggest descriptions here on GOG! So many features make it interesting in my eyes, even though I'm not too much into tower defence games. I'll keep an eye on it. :)
gog.com/connect ... pleease?
Is this related to Deathtrap Dungeon?

my question was pointless

Nice. After playing the Deathtrap map in Van Helsing Final Cut I'm definitely getting this. But will probably put it on the wishlist for now.
Be aware that game has problems with sound engine since ever. Just go to steam and check it in support sub-forum. The answer from dev team has been 0 until now, and it's the same problem they had with van helsing games: sound error at start with their engine means no music and no sounds at all, even if the rest of game is working. Support is 0, so that's also my "support" to these developers :P
