Brick out these construction plans.

Craft The World, a sandbox strategy game where you build your own dwarf fortress, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with GOG Galaxy support for achivements and multiplayer and a 50% launch discount.

Conquering the world can be a pretty epic and thrilling undertaking, but it usually leaves you saddled with the resources and constructions of its previous owner(s). Where's the fun in that? Play God instead, and manage your own tribe of laborious dwarves as they build a home for themselves on a randomly generated island, full of opportunities and untapped real estate potential.

Mine the surface and subsurface world for resources, build a fortress fit for a vertically challenged king, and defeat any malicious creatures that want to claim it for themselves. Grow your dwarf workforce, craft them better weapons and equipment but also provide them with food, furniture, ammunition, and decent living conditions. And if you Craft The World as impressive as your divine powers allow, be prepared to use your magic in order to discourage the hordes of monsters that will come pouring through portals to bang at your doors.

Craft The World as sturdy, stylish, and efficient as you please, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until February 10, 1:59 PM GMT.
well hey! this looks pretty cool, may give this a buy later today.
Another Terraria clone?

Jeez, those seem to be quite popular. :D
Looks like an interesting mix between Terraria, Dwarfs? and Kingdom. Definitely interested. Wishlisted.

Not an adventure game. Pass.
This reads like a laundry list of what collectathons were to the 90s that 'open world sandbox games' today are.

The 'open blender' of game design, if you will. Tower defence! RTS! Crafting! We threw everything at the wall to see what would stick!
MUST HAVE!
Looks interesting. Wishlisted for now.
Looks like Terraria... about the 100th game to do so.

GOG.com: game where you build your own dwarf fortress
I know this game already. By the strange coincidence, it has exactly the name... Dwarf Fortress :)

Craft the yawn.
After long drought of decent sandbox games, of course several must pop here almost at the same time. Anyone who played this, where does this one stand on Terraria - Starbound - Windforge scale? Or is it off the scale entirely (seems to have some Populous elements for example - how strong are they?)? Screenshots look little too cartoonish, but don't tell anything about gameplay.

Looks tempting, but the reviews seem to make it out to be a touchscreen/mobile game/UI.

"Because it's a Mobile game. Everything about CtW reeks of "The App Store is our major goal". No key bindings, a crafting menu COMPLETELY designed around touchscreens, and even a big Dwarf holding an iPad when you load up the game just ruins the experience for me."

Also, whilst kind of funny (at least the review was ;p)

"Me: Hey, go build a bridge.
Dwarf: Okay. Oops, I fell.
Me: Um, why did you walk off the edge? I told you to build a bridge, not jump from it.
Dwarf: Okay. Oops, I fell.
Me: Useless. I'll do it. *takes control of Dwarf* There, see? Now, walk across that bridge!
Dwarf: Okay. Oops, I fell.
Me: Off the bridge? Seriously? It's a straight line in a 2D view, how do you fall off? There is no depth to fall from!

Me: Go collect that stuff.
Dwarf: I'm tired.
Me: Go rest.
Dwarf: No bed.
Me: Okay, you need wool, go kill that sheep.
Dwarf: I'm tired.
Me: ... Fine, don't sleep.
Dwarf: Oops, I fell.

Me: How do I craft this thing?
Game: Make this picture with stuff.
Me: Dragging things one at a time?
Game: Of course! The more time you spend in the inventory, the less time you spend building or worrying about the dwarves jumping from your bridges!
Dwarf: Oops, I fell.
Me: Dude, go put some sand and dirt under the bridge.
Dwarf: I'm tired. "

Guess sticking with Terraria until gets further patches/fixes, but definitely wishlisted.
