The-Business: Not so serious
analysis by the developers of Cally's Caves 3 how much it had cost them to produce the iOS and Android versions of the game. Would love to see the PC version here.
It really doesn't cost that much to create a game, even for indie developers these days since they can get a lot of tools for free. However, it can cost for licensing when it comes to some images and music, but if you're really nice and ask for permission, you can cut those costs down.
Some companies throw as much into game development as much as Hollywood puts into large movie productions; however, they really don't need to squander that money if they've already got a fan base online. "Word of Mouth" probably saves more than that 30-second spot on Superbowl Sunday.
If it cost you more than a new car to make a game, you're playing it all wrong. :)
