advancedhero: What happened to the ninja thread that got everyone so angry? I was not on the forums at that period.
avatar
lugum: it was getting out of hand, with alot of people fighting in the end with alot of namecalling and personal attacks.
it was me actually who requested it to be locked.
That surprises me tbh, people here tend to be pretty cool in my experience, though I am relatively new

Then, you'd be surprised at the amount of drama that resulted from the lowrepping induced by the Ninja Giveaway.

Wow, okay looking back on some of the old posts, it was best to be closed. :(
People got frustrated with the same few people taking all of the games offered there. It seemed that they started negative rep to everyone who won a game, so people stopped saying thank you if they ninja'd a game from there...which pissed more people off, then some of the people being derepped somehow (alts presumably) started derepping other people and voila...thread closed.

Fair enough, at least this thread's doin' well though, some saintly individuals on here :D

Looks to me like you were right there when it was getting bad...

Also, in a rather unfortunate coincidence, Sachys and everyone else were derepped for calling you out...

Indeed, let us not dwell on the dark past. You wouldn't see this kind of generosity on Steam or shudders Origin. I hate EA!

I just didn't pay attention to many posts back then. I constantly regret my brashness and stupidity back then, too. I have made some new friends though, and try to be more sensible. :/

They both launch with DOSBox.

From the description on Amazon:

Arena: The Anthology features the original version of Arena and will launch within a DOS emulator.

Daggerfall: The ancient golem Numidium, a powerful weapon once used to unify Tamriel has once again been unearthed. The Anthology features the original version of Daggerfall and will launch within a DOS emulator.

Most definitely. Patches fix some bugs, but you still may have a problem. That is the main reason most people never play them, but if you are into old school rpgs, they are a must! I even made a thread on this yesterday! :D

They are archaic games, so if you can't stand old and not so user-friendly GUIs, I would say no. The best answer, though, would be to play them yourself, since they are officially available free:
