thank you for the info maybe i will leave the post because of the presentation if that's ok
Thanks for sharing the links MadeinChina!
I hope we'll hear more about path traced audio.
However, I couldn't help myslef but I kept wondering with what update msoft will break it..
I'm torn between buying a couple of 1080 cards the day they come out, or waiting for 1080 Ti version to ship. Right now I'm running two 780 Ti cards, so I'm still ok when it comes to power, but I kinda just want to upgrade.

Wait for the Ti, you would just get angy at yourself that you didn't wait.
happend to me with my 980 just that when I bought it Nvidia said there wouldn't be a Ti.
What's so special about Ti? If money isn't an issue, why not just get what you want, sell it later and get the next one you want?

Spoken like an enthusiast! :D
I'm looking at the 1070, if the power efficiency is better than the 970. I'm still running a 760 Kepler card, so I'm a little due for an upgrade.

It's not the money, it's the time, unfortunately. More often than not I can't be bothered to deal with the selling of it. That's why whenever I build a new computer every three years, I usually end up tossing the old one. I try to give away whatever parts I can (if I'm lucky and someone I know wants them) but then the rest of it tends to end up in a dumpster. I just tossed a ton of hardware when I was moving to a new state a few months ago.

Heh, I'm still using a 560 Ti - and my chip's a Core i7 920.

I gotta build a new rig...
Pretty much the same as GR00T. I have a q6600 core 2 quad with a 460 gt. My other computer is a i5 2500k with a 560. It had a 560 Ti but that card started giving graphics errors.
Nvidia chief reminds me of Stalin... Wearing leather coat for sake of image. Or is this to shield him hot air from cards?..

i7 920 is pretty powerful chip, can be overclocked. It lacks only in singlethread... So.. Xeon x5647 here.

If that does not come with HBM2 RAM I'll wait even longer ;)

Damn their old overstuffed vintage GDDR Ram stock :/

Try something like freecycle or donate it to a local charity / non-profit, If they don't have to take money out of their general funds / donations for IT upgrades it does help. Or ask your local university if there's somewhere to offer it to students. Make part of the condition that whoever takes it picks it up at a time of your choosing, and takes the lot.
