It's possible, I've gotten PM's for "gifting games to a wrong person". There are people who feel that they should receive games, which makes no sense, really.

Jealousy, maybe? I have a feeling a lot of this downrepping may have to do with that, though not all of it.

I think it's just people who are bored and want to mess with us so they make a bunch of accounts and go after people who do nothing.

Like me a couple months ago. I had about 600 rep and now they won't even let me get to 230 without down repping me some more.

and now I am at 209 when an hour ago I was over 220 but since I posted that they are down repping me again.

I lose five points a day and I only ever frequent the gifting thread once every blue moon.

Of course, I'm an asshole so that may have something to do with it but I think a lot more of it is people with nothing better to do who also have a hard on for derepping. I once had a reg (kind of a reg) tell me flat out he loves to log on just to downrep people because he gets a kick out of how mad it makes people. Unfortunately these people exist and we are stuck with them because last time I checked it was illegal to kill them. :D

lol yeah exactly, I don't really care about rep especially since I have been on here long enough to where most regs know me or have at least seen me around and know I gift and chat and what not. I'm just little bit tired of seeing all the low rated posts when there aren't doing anything. I am hoping GoG just gets rid of the reping system all together or at the very least makes it so you can only up vote.
