You're probably right in your earlier thoughts on the dereppage - though I'd also add maybe some took offense at the level of gift, but my suspicions lay elsewhere.

I'll backup what Yellow said earlier about the situation - but I'll add that it's not always like this, so get involved around here generally (some people have been derepped or disliked before for only being seen in gifting threads), and theres plenty more going on!
