Elmofongo: Though may I ask does the vanilla game work right out of the box?
comradegarry: I don't know if it works outside the box (using linux + wine just to extract data) but Quake 2 doesn't come with the music files sadly, you'll have to find a 3d party to provided the files in mp3 or ogg format and a newer (open source) engine to use them :(
Quake 1 is the same way, Quake 3 & 4 are fine(music wise).
Besides music is there any other problems for Windows of Steam?
I played the Demo for Quake 2 and there were color issues. The game comes out in windowed mode in the smallest window possible so when I alt-ENTER the game to Full Screen it causes the colors to mess up.
But than again that was just the demo unless its exact same thing as the real game selling on Steam?
